Further proving my point to the kid who says you can purchase a 2020 TRD Sport for 30K.

He was honorable and came clean on that one, his is a few years old. The crow has been eaten. I doubt you could even get the SR in that configuration (just like mine actually) for 30 K these days.

The best way to post in this thread is sale price after rebates but before tax , title , linsence and trade . It's good to list MSRP too . Best of luck to you and your new truck .

Hey folks, newbie here! I'm looking to purchase a Cement 2020 TRD Sport 6MT with LED headlights, tech pkg and premium pkg.

To my surprise, nothing in stock in NJ!!! Then I found this forum/thread and realize this is a nationwide issue. Never knew Tacomas were that high in demand!!

I went to 3 dealerships today and they all want MSRP if I order one. They said if I order, it'll most likely be a 2021 model year.

One of the dealership is a Costco dealership and their pricing is actually fair. $2600 off MSRP. But that only applies to vehicles sitting in their inventory. Unfortunately they don't have a single Tacoma in their lot. Not even a used one!

Is my best bet to wait until production ramps back up in the upcoming months? Additionally, I noticed some Tacomas are made in the US (Vin starts with 5) while others are made in Mexico (Vin starts with 3). Anyone have any info on this? Is the quality/reliablility the same?

Can you give me the name of the dealership? I want to check out their website for their inventory. I'm in NJ, but willing to travel a bit.

I live in the Pocono Mtns in PA . I had to go an hour and 15 mins to buy my taco in Doylestown,PA . The inventory sucked for what I wanted to buy in my area . They all have double cabs . If you want a double cab check Koch 33

I paid 34,200 for a similar truck except mine has the sill guards and the black package and I bought during the 1500$ rebate. I think if you wait longer, you'll be looking at 2021

I was supposed to be getting a 2020 that they were pulling in by swapping with another dealer. So far I have not heard if that's 100% a done deal. :fingerscrossed:
Your deal does sound very similar.I think the door sill guards are bundled with Mats on mine. I would like the black out package but I can do it myself.

It's looking like the swap to get mine in might fall through and then they have to look again for one. Might put me in to August and the rebate is going to change. Might mean I have to wait longer and end up with a 2021 too.

@yooperbikemike Did you get yours already? How are you liking it?

I recall currently manual Tacoma's and the Pro's were assembled in Texas. Everything else is assembled in Mexico. I believe Toyota has plans to shift everything to Mexico in the near future. I don't think there is anything proven quality difference, maybe antidotal.

I don't see an option on the Toyota website to add a moonroof to a 2020 Tacoma SR5. Is this only on the TRD or Limited?

Yes the moonroof is part of the Premium Package, which you can only get on the TRD trims.

Thank you! Wow, they have decent stock! Unfortunately, no manual in trd sport in Cement. But I'll keep my eyes on their website for new inventory.
I checked Koch33, a few days ago. Also no inventory for 6MT TRD Sport . But they do have a lot of other double cabs in stock.

Question for all you folks: is the premium pkg worth it at $3,645? Kinda steep! All we're really getting is leather, moonroof, heated seats and an upgraded JBL radio. Honestly, I don't need any of those. All I want is the height adjustable drivers seat (which comes standard I think) and Carplay/AA.

And for manuals, I know there's no press button start. Have to be old school with a keyed ignition....which I don't understand. I have a 2017 Hyundai 6MT with keyless start and keyless entry.

Is keyless entry available for 6MT?

Nope only on some TRD and limited trims. I didn't want one this time. I had some trouble with leaks in my Jeep a few times and it cuts the head room a little in the Tacoma. One less thing to break or cause a problem.

"Worth it" on the Premium is in the eye of the beholder. I have kids so wanted leather, I like the sunroof, heated seats are nice in MN winters, 6MT doesn't get upgraded stereo (but that does make it cheaper for us), and the dual zone climate is nice for the wife to adjust her side if she's cold and I'm not. That all definitely makes it worth it to me. Also if I'm going to keep the truck for a decade then I want it to have every option and not regret not getting something!

As for push button/keyless entry, they claim it's not there because of the Clutch Start Cancel. I think that's BS though. I wish they included it (along with remote start too) in the 6MTs.

This sounds a lot like my story -- I was looking for a DCLB and the local dealer said they could get one and then couldn't. Then they got a TRD Sport longbed and sold it before I could get there to deal. a dealer60 miles away had an DCSB. I went and looked at it, decided that the times I'd be glad trying to park a foot shorter vehicle greatly outweighed the times I'd be glad I had a 6 ft bed and bought it on the spot. As for liking it, I've had 2 pre-taco pick-ups and a 1st Gen Tundra DC and 5 4-Runners, so you could say I like Toyotas. I'm coming from driving an Audi SUV so it's taking some getting used to.

I'm coming from a lifted Liberty so I'm used to the truck like ride. For me it's going to be getting used to how a gas engine outputs power vs driving a turbo diesel over a decade. I'm sure it being my first new truck and new vehicle will overcome all that fast.
