MSRP on my SR access cab was 33.8 so the SR5 pricing seems about right to me.

Yeah, you’re definitely right about the discount equation. I just put down what I normally do in my head I forgot that I just automatically convert it to a percentage off from there.
As far as the additions you made to the template, what you did definitely makes it more accurate and is correct but I think in this case less is more meaning that it’s hard enough to get people to read anything let alone a long thread/post. I purposely pared it down in the hope that more people would follow it. I think increasing the length of the post to what you made would cause a lot of people to not read and follow it. Also, a lot of people are not going to go find their paperwork to look up information to post. I’d rather get the basics of what they know and just have them put that down. I figured sacrifice some of the accuracy of data to gain more data. Does that make sense?

Beautifully done sir. Is the $1000 rebate included in the 7% discount?

I got it! Got them down to 28800 otd for everything taxes titles all that Jazz. I’m impressed with the 4 banger. I got 26-30 mpg on the highway going 65 mph. I was nervous about it being a 4 banger cause everyone here bashes them but it’s honestly quite fine! Really happy with it!

I’m doing a cash sale, no trade in. I feel like that hampers my ability to negotiate. They won’t be making any money off of a trade in so they are less likely to give me much off MSRP

congrats man. You’ve been on here and looking for a while.
Yea, The 4 cylinders are fine. My first two Tacomas had the same engine. It doesn’t really do much when you floor it but it’s bulletproof and going to last forever. None of these Tacoma‘s are made to win races so not that big of a deal.

I’m not saying that you should lie or anything but there’s no reason to tell them that it’s going to be a cash purchase. If they think they’re going to make money off you through financing then that will help your negotiation position.

I hope this was a Friday sarcastic reply, and you’re not serious in thinking nitrogen filled tires provide any improvement in tires.

I wouldn’t worry about the trade in, it’s actually easier since that’s one less thing you need to worry about negotiating. It’s the cash deal that will hamper your negotiating. Don’t tell them your paying cash until you’ve agreed upon a price and are sitting in the Finance office.

hey everyone. Looking at purchasing a TRD Off Road Voodoo Blue out here in the Las Vegas area and dealerships are not budging at all on any off the Off Roads. They're willing to move on a TRD Sport. Talked to 3 dealers so far that finally got some inventory in. kSeems like I'm SOL on getting a deal on an Off Road. Anybody else having the same issues trying to pick one up?

If they are willing to sweeten the pot, you could finance through them and then just pay it all off right away. Just make sure there are no early payoff penalties before agreeing to anything.

As I was typing it up I was thinking it was getting complicated. You are right that it probably would be better to simplify it some how, to encourage people to use it.

I believe that nitrogen tires in an off road vehicle are a waste, the first time you air down and have to air up the nitrogen is gone, unless you carry a tank of nitrogen.
As for street tires they can help, they can keep a constant air pressure throughout heat build up.
For running on a track, you can be sure of a continuous tire pressure, lap after lap.

Considering that oxygen is 78% nitrogen, nitrogen filled tires will add 22% more nitrogen, max. Consumer Reports and the NHTSA have studied nitrogen vs standard “air” filled tires and found no discernible difference. Over a year of leaving nitrogen filled tires and standard air filled tires untouched, the nitrogen tires kept 2 psi more air than the standard air tires. Technically the nitrogen filled tires kept more pressure, but in the real world it wouldn’t make a difference.
If you’re racing Formula 1 cars and adjusting your tire pressures by half psi increments, than yes nitrogen would make sense. Outside of professional race car drivers, there’s no real advantage to nitrogen tires.
In a Tacoma, there is no scientific reason to use nitrogen. Now if you just want to fill with nitrogen because you like to, than that’s cool.

At the track we found that Nitrogen tires made for more consistent lap times, you removed a variance that would change from lap to lap

I have never put nitrogen in any street tires or off road tires

No, for whatever reason I don’t think it was an option with the manual. Premium or nothing it seems.
