Any word on September deals/production outlook? I threw the towel in for Aug, hoping inventories will increase and buyers will decrease (the buyer part is doubtful, just wishful thinking on my part)... all hail taco

Is Toyota still making 2020 models ? Or have they switched to 2021s like everyone else?

I think 2021s are imminent, but I bought a 2020 yesterday that was built on August 10th...so maybe there’s some 2020 VINs yet to be put together?

Looking at buying a 2020 OR in the coming week that was built on the 4th of this month. However, other dealerships have told me they're not expecting any more 2020s and have tried to adjust a 2021 order for me.

What is included in the desert package? i’d say even worse is the battery and tire recycle fee. Are you driving away with no batterY and Tires and just leaving them in their parking lot thus requiring them to recycle them? That might be the worst new car fee I’ve ever heard of.

I thought the same thing. I asked the salesperson what were those two fees for and they just replied back with a link to Toyota's website page about their fees, and of course desert package and tire/battery fee are nowhere to be found.

Hope the desert package isn't the Desert Air Intake (DAI)/Snorkel thing. I'm sure there are some who like it, but to me it is fugly! But for $1600, makes me wonder if that is what it is.

It's less than 9% off MSRP prior to rebate, not exactly "crushed it", prior to COVID demand / supply nonsense, most could get 10% at least without any rebates, some of us including myself even 11-13% without rebates. But for this environment its a solid deal for sure.

My guy here said first allocations for them of 2021 are first-second week of october, so only a few weeks left of 2020s.

Think you're reading into my comment the wrong way. And you also missed the part where I said its a pretty good deal in the current enviornment, but outside this craziness not so much, patience will pay off for those that can wait for inventory and demand to stabilize. And totally cool to be stoked for the dude getting his Tacoma, pretty sure all of us can echo that, but from a price discussion standpoint, its not a "crushed it" deal.

Good info, thanks! If that’s the case, sounds like give it a shot end of September (if they can produce) or wait until the 21’s are solidly on the lots for any chance of of discounts. Or just plan to pay up! At least the 21s are spec’ed and priced similarly. Also hopefully everyone will be distracted with lunar and AG so I can snag a cement!

Cement is always tough, its still super popular, i've had 3 of them and managed 11-13% off MSRP w/out rebates, just gotta wait for the craziness to stop. Good luck!

I agree. I spoke with one of the moderators about doing that but they said that it was not possible.

I agree that "patience will pay off for those that can wait for inventory and demand to stabilize" and if Toyota was doing Quicksand next year, I would of waited.

2021 Tundra builds are live on the Toyota site. Tacomas shouldn't been too much longer? Rep out here in Vegas said beginning of November for 2021 Tacos for their dealer
