I do my own maint and definitely don't want chemicals in my vehicle, so I'd tell them to shove that scam where the sun don't shine. It's nothing but a shameless con to get more money out of you. Some dealers are just awful with this kind of nonsense.

    $45k MSRP for a 2020 TRD Off-Road is steep! That’s only $3k away from a Pro Model.

It's not about the model hierarchy, it's about which model is right for you. I ordered a loaded double cab Off-Road because I wanted the long bed and if I want more offroad capability than the stock Off-Road offers, I can spend that $3000 difference on suspension mods of my choosing. From my perspective, the Off-Road makes a helluva lot more sense than the Pro. The Pro colors for 2020 suck too, in my opinion.

I understand, especially when dealers are discounting 2020 Sports and OR models but not the Pro model. My point was that a loaded OR model is now encroaching on Pro pricing.

    Long lurker first poster.

Looking at a '20 SR w/ convenience (required) and SX (preferred), DC AT V6.

Was hoping to get the truck 30K before TTL/trade in. True car and my research is showing it's close to 30.5-31k, if I walk in with 30K + TTL - Trade, am I in the neighborhood to work with a dealer or will they laugh in my face? If they take 30 I'm happy with that, not hunting for a 100/200 discount here or there.

They'll be grumpy on the back end, won't be buying anything in terms of add ons, steps, tunneau, etc. But, they'll survive.

    TIA!

34.2 for the SR, which I'm a little surprised on that price for the SR - that's TRD neighborhood even around here. "True price" in truecar is 31.7 for that one.

    Add: also 4x4, not 4x2.

From the toyota site 33.4 but that isn't showing the SX package or the convenience (keyless entry) as config options on the builder.

Offer them 30k, It should be close enough that they will get down to business if it won't work for them but I would hold my offer there because they will try to drag you up. If you are willing to price shop and also willing to walk you can probably get it for real close to 30

Congrats! This is exactly the truck I ordered, a loaded 2020 DCLB OR with LED package, TRD premium package and advanced tech package...and NO dealer accessories. I special ordered mine to avoid paying for a bunch of dealer installed crap I don't want...and so I can accessorize my truck my way. The cement color with the long bed does look amazing!

Also, again, please provide the exact MSRP and the exact price you paid before taxes/fees, so your true discount can be calculated. Without that info this is no help to shoppers.

WOW! That is a full size truck. I sure do like the LONG bed on the Tacoma. I would have had one if the Limited was offered.

After working with some local dealers, I think I’m close to pulling the trigger.
2020 Off-road 4x4 DCSB with premium, advanced tech, and LED packages.
    MSRP: $44773
Price negotiated: $40250 plus $500 rebate, so $39750 before TTL. CA tax will kill it of course.

    What do you fellas think?

Yes thank you for the reminder..

Here is the paperwork, looks like the vehicle came to $46,815.00
There was also a Toyota rebate for $1250 so if you count that it would be $45,565

Tax, Title, License, Fees, etc - $47,861

Little bit of negative equity from my trade in, then a down payment from me netted a $45,000 loan.

I upgraded to this from an 18 Pro for the long bed. This truck, just 2 years later, is incredibly improved. Much better than the Pro I traded in.

IMO this is a very good deal especially in California. Very close to what I was able to get on a similar MSRP. Nice work!

x2, just did my swap out from an 18 Pro to a 2020 Sport and hour ago, insanely noticeable. Even my wife said it even sounded quieter over the phone, haha.
