Well the biggest thing is the infotainment system. Finally has carplay, and the 8" display is beautifully enormous. I use Gaia GPS a lot, and they are beta testing carplay for it right now so there is a chance I will be able to ditch my iPad on overlanding trips. The Remote Connect (part of the connected services, 1 year test membership) gives you remote lock/unlock, remote start, warnings, etc.. There is also front and side cameras now, so you can see the trail in front of the truck and it also can do a 360 camera view which is cool for backing up. Then there is the LED head lights.. and for the tall people out there the electric seat is a huge improvement.. So all around just a massive tech upgrade.

Then it also really felt like some of the regular soft touch items had been improved, things like the blinker lever having a much nicer activation (weird thing I know), not to mention the infotainment system has actual buttons now, and a rubberized volume knob. I could be wrong here, but I think some of the knobs for the AC/heat changed a bit too and added some more rubber. It just feels way nicer on the inside over the '18. Also the cab is definitely much quieter.

And then there is the other options I got on this new one, such as a moon roof and the JBL sound system. The 18 pro's did not come with a moonroof as an option. So really just a crazy upgrade for only 2 years newer

I did not own an earlier taco, however I did test drive a SR5 TRD OR and a Limited ‘19 before I bought my ‘20 OR Premium. I agree with the above quote.

I would like to add that, in my opinion, it’s also easier to ‘edit’ out most of the deficiencies in shifting with your right foot in the ‘20. It seems to me that the ‘20 is easier to drive.

I would like more details on the ‘connect’ as my dealer didn’t mention anything about that and I would really like remote start without having to wait for 12v solutions to release the ‘20 remote start.

Yeah my dealers were surprisingly unaware of the features of the vehicle, I guess thats what happens when the vehicles sell themselves.

If you have the SOS button in your truck then you have their "Connected Services". You can download the Toyota App from the App Store or Play Store and then you create an account, sign in and register your email. Then you have to register the VIN, they will send an email to you with a PIN code, you enter that on the infotainment system and then your truck will be paired with your app. From there, you can just click the start button, its really neat.

    Pro-tips:
    - You will have to install the entune apps on your truck, which is as easy as going to the applications menu on your truck, and clicking download or update, then the apps will be there.. You want to see the "Authorization" app.
    - If you care about privacy be careful setting up the app as it will ask permission to continually monitor your location "so you can get cheaper insurance".......... Make sure to not accidently click OK on that one and click No Thanks in the top corner

That's just over 11% off, which is definitely a solid deal.

That's a very important point about privacy. This was my biggest concern about using this connected services.

$43k for this 2020 Limited 4x4 out the door Monday. I had about $13k equity in my trade in and I put some more down to bring my payment cheaper than it was on my old truck. 4AF17286-FFDF-4BDF-A02B-525712656AB8.jpg

^ this. Things that you would never have picked up without extensive time driving an older model. Just tiny nuance items that add to the experience. It's like they contracted some Germans to make minor corrections.

This looks like to me that you paid full MSRP and they didn't subtract the $1250.00 rebate and I'm not sure what the $4500 is they didn't add or subtract it .

Yes they did; $5,750 cash down, that was subtracted out. However, he must been upside down on his trade because they added $2,9XX back into the price. He’s still under sticker.

    Yep.

Negative $2905 on my trade in.

    $4500 down payment + $1250 rebate = $5750 cash down

x2, that's effectively where I landed at too. Auto trans, 16,6xx miles. They started with $34k and somewhere in the 38k range for the 2020 all-in with BS fees ($36,928 "MSRP"). Took about 20 minutes, but eventually they settled on an even trade... I don't really care how they did the math on their end.

They now have it listed for $41,500.... Not that I think they expect to get that much, but it's Toyotathon and they're only incentivized to move new cars. The business manager told me that leadership tasked them with breaking their monthly sales record (in terms of # of new cars moved, which is 465...insane to think they can push 15~ per day) this December and that they were currently off pace.

I would imagine many other dealerships are probably operating under the same pressure... Taking lower margins/commissions in order to meet volume quotas.

If anybody is interested in my old truck, here's the link... For whatever reason, the pictures are for the one I received.

Thanks. I wasn't throwin' stones. The deal looked pretty straight forward to me. If you're happy with it that's all that matters. ENJOY your new truck. I sure like mine.
