My dealer flat out told me, "we don't do Costco pricing on Pros"!!

I was laughing about thinking they’re going to drop their price because of it. There are enough suckers walking in and paying sticker minus rebates and then buying warranties and protection plans and financing the whole thing.

Toyota spends millions on market research. They know their market and what premium price they can get for what. Hence the price jump. People are paying it. Look how many folks on here are trading up for some led headlights, CarPlay and power seats.

I would report that to Costco.

I’m pretty sure that’s how the agreement works. They become a Costco dealer and agree to honor Costco prices so members get the best pricing without having to negotiate. In return Costco sends them business. There’s probably a few more details than that but that’s the just of it.

I feel like an idiot. If they ever get the truck I put a deposit down one we're going to have a chat. If they don't budge I'll just walk.

My truck is paid for and I am starting to lose interest in the 2020 Army Green. Seems like a MT that I want probably won't be available for quite some time.

To follow up from my previous post, I was quoted $37,500 for the package with the Costco Toyota dealership (which is about an hour away) and had that in hand when the local dealership opened with $37k. So YMMV, the Costco price is a good benchmark and is usually at or slightly under invoice.

Not sure if anyone realizes that $37k + is tundra pricing territory. The 1-2mpg difference is worth the space and ability to actually tow 6000lbs without getting run off the highway.

I’m not sure what hybrid tundra you’re driving but those things get like 13 mpg on a good day.

My OR AdvTechPremium is going to be about 44k before TTL. MSRP is 45ish, got invoice plus 500 for a starting price of 42.9 and I’m adding some stuff.

It’ll be close enough to 50 otd after taxes.

It has everything I want and I haven’t bought a car for me since 2006. This may be the last vehicle I buy, almost certainly the last gasoline one I purchase. Excited.

I read 2020 model is better than 2019 model?

Sams Club Auto buying program is nothing more than a repost of truecar website.

Not gunna lie, I read the mpg reviews and expected the Tundra would get 13-15 mpg at best.
What kills me on mpg in the Tundra is full stop and go city traffic. It takes way more fuel to get it moving from a stand still.
If i can avoid that, my MPG is close enough that i consider it a wash between the 2 trucks.
At the time I bought my Tacoma, Tundra's were way out of my price range. Now a days, the trim levels overlap the same price ranges.

Same my JBL/Tech/Prem Offroad was $36k in June 2017, my 2019 Tech/Prem OR was $37k Dec 2018. But as you mentioned with the additional package options the price can and has balloned quite a bit. But if people keep buying them Toyota will keep asking what they ask.

I’ll wait a long time to get the price I want. I hope I don’t have to wait until next September.

By then I’ll know if they really fixed the automatic, the power leather seat is comfy on 700 mile drives, and if the led lights are bright or just lipstick on a bulldog.

    :D

Bought a 19 dblcab 4x4 OR AT with jbl, sunroof, cross traffic, leather, tint, paint protection, pred bars a month ago for 35700 in Asheville. Called to get a price yesterday on the same exact truck in 2020 flavor and it was 42700 just for reference. This is a no haggle dealer.

I own a black Tacoma it looks like a Hearse for Rednecks. Thought about putting some shinny skull decals on it for Halloween and maybe some Advertising for a Funeral Home. :D:D
