    Looking 2020 Tacoma
Here's one, way back in the 90's, I was buying a new Jimmy. I was also intending to trade in a Mazda. I made an offer for them to give me $1 for my trade in if they would sell me the Jimmy for the price we settled on minus the blue book value of the Mazda. That way the sales tax would be much lower. It took them almost 2 hours to figure that one out. But they finally said that was illegal. So, I walked. They called me a few days later and made a much better deal. But I still had to pay the sales tax.

I guess my other idea of working the monthly payment didn't go over too well. :sorry:

Here in Utah you get a tax credit on your trade. If your Tacoma is 35k and your trade in is 20k, you only pay taxes on 15k.

I beat up my dealer and took my 2 weeks to finally find dealer to agree to my offer- turns out was my selling dealer (that I bought my 13 Tacoma from) . My was stock on cement TRD sport 4WD LG package . Back in Nov 2019 , only 3 dealers had this model in So Cal and everyone laughed in my face when I offered 43K - went to Longo Toyota/ Orange etc. Turns out I wasn’t nuts- My selling dealer not only took my offer, but I managed to include back flip cover installed . I paid $43,650 OTD for my 2020 TRD Sport/ DCLB with LG package (LED headlights/ fogs/ upgraded head unit) . My selling dealer was the best- bought 2 Tacoma’s from them and planning on getting my wife’s 2020 4Runner from them as well.

Just signed the papers. 2020 TRD OR DCSB 4WD in Cement. Led package, premium package, tonneau cover, tech package and door sills / all weather floor mats. MSRP $44523, negotiated $39560, then another $500 off with military rebate (took promotional TFS APR instead of $1000), bringing it to $39060 before TTL (which trade credit was $576 and $200 plates/reg $300 doc fee). So 12% off MSRP, but holy h*ll I had to battle for that price.

I paid $34,159 out the door, tax, tag and license for my 2020 TRD Sport. I ordered the 6-speed manual transmission,TRD exhaust, all weather floor mats, door edge guards and sill protectors. It came with all that plus fog lights and a bed mat. List price on the truck was $37,000 and change. The dealership gave me $1000 in trade for my 1994 SR5 V-6 Extra-Cab, 4x4 with 414,000 miles and more body rust than a WW2 battleship. I didn't steal the new one but my butt wasn't sore when I drove away with it either.

Dude, it was such a F**ing PITA to get that deal. But thanks! Not my best one yet, but I'll take it on a new 2020 this early in the year and with LED baby!

Signed on 2020 TRD OR DCSB 6MT w/ only LED package today, picking up the truck next week.

    MSRP $37,188
    Dealer Price: $33,183 (10.7%)
    After Mfg Rebate: $32,183 (13.4%)

Another dealer in town said they'd beat any offer I had in writing guaranteed, though I might not have gotten color preference there. I felt this was a fair price and it's with the local dealer where I'll end up for services/etc so I took it.

Worth noting that this was the "Costco price" at the dealership that Costco set me up with, I took it to another dealership who had a Costco price that was $2,400 higher, but asked them to price match the first and they did.

And I thought I was bad about changing vehicles. ROFL.

It’s worse when you get that deal and another salesman sells it before you get there to do the deal.

Congrats on the new truck. You can stop now. Lol.

Single, no kids, no mortgage, did 11 years active duty, lots of tax free deployments, but ya worst part is always trying to explain why I want a "newer" truck when I start the deal negotiations, hate having to justify my poor life choices ;)

Right, Im sure my guy was getting scolded by the sales manager, not to mention this was 2 weeks of back and forth with 3 different dealers, and a few visits with each before I got them to this price. I saw you got yours swooped up, sucks man, Chi burbs isnt truck or Tacoma country so I don't really have anyone to worry about, everyone buying Highlanders and Camrys, lol.

Ya this one hurt a bit so gonna keep her for a bit, I don't know why the F**k I bought a sport to begin with, tried to be happy with it, just missed my offroad. And OMG the new LEDs and grill, so much SEX.

Very Nice! You deal is very much in line with the deal I negotiated. Did you have to order this or did they have it?

Instock, Tacomas aren’t hot items here, but the region does seem to not want to order LED trucks unless they are fully loaded.

Thanks man! I love it. The LEDs are so worth the $485. This is Taco number 12 for me, lol and my favorite. Gotta pull out fluid film tomorrow while its nice before we get snow on Wed.

LOL!!! It's actually kind of funny. As I'm sure you've read from my previous posts we must share the same addiction. My 2020 TRD Sport is on order and has a build date of 3/4/2020. Got my first one in 1999 and the 2020 will be my 10th thanks to the outstanding resale value. I'm very much looking forward to the LED's and the black leather interior. Again, best of luck to you and be careful in the snow!
