That's the way I play the game as well. Been buying oil and oil services since the BP catastrophe. (Catastrophes and political unrest overseas are the best time to begin averaging into good companies beat up by short term issues specific to their events). I don't worry about fuel prices. Becasue I will be able to pick up a cheap 09 G37 or a host of other low MPG vehicles on fire sales for fun when gas gets to $5 with some profits. Still $3.55 here so that won't be anytime soon.

Somebody is always making money in every catastrophe. Think about all the investors who bought USA propped who bought B of A at $3. Those kinds of returns are limited on the low and not so much on the high. Same as energy.

People pay $3 for 8oz of Starbucks or a gallon of filtered tap water. So its worth owning companies like that and those who use a lot of water......ala Pepsi, Coke. and they PAY you to won them in dividends as well.

Californians and many of the blue states are getting torn up by Fuel prices. I'm guessing they really want all people to buy Smart cars....

    :D......."adding to California's "success" ;)

I think you know whats going on at a young age as well......Far more people are leaving California than coming and that does not bode well for housing there, But is helping Texas and states they are moving too. The people who are leaving are the more productive as well becasue they can move out and survive. Unions saved the country at one time and we have great labor laws becasue of them....but just like big corporations, now are killing it though greed. Only big corporations can continue to profit..Unions are just losing members and public support.
