Most "cheap" gas is running the full 10% ethanol... potentially more depending on how they are doing their blending.

Some stations actually do in-ground blending of ethanol... don't know if that's done in LA/California or not, but it is cheaper than blending at the depot and shipping it in.

I stopped running Costco/Sam's after it "turned" in 3 months when stored for the dirtbike. I had about 50 gallons in jugs and none of it even smelled "good"... ended up slowly feeding it into the 4-wheelers 5 gallons at a time.

But it wasn't just that it had turned... Two dirtbikes and a quad... ended up having to completely strip and clean the carbs. The jets had to be replaced. Every brass part was covered with a green "fuzz" and it would not scrub off.

People say "all gas is the same"
    They are wrong.
The base oil stock and gasoline stock is the same.
Each brand has their own proprietary blend... cheap gas is cheap for a reason, and only one of those reasons is because it doesn't say "Chevron/Mobil/Shell"

4.04 for 87 octane. We run b50-b99 in the Duramax and get better MPG and its quieter. Right now it is 3.99/gal and regular b5 diesel is 4.47.

Damn it I wish I had a diesel.

That sucks the SAMS gas isnt as good. I guess if your not planning on letting it sit in the tank for a while its not bad for the price you pay..

Ya... anybody can pick and choose an individual DATE.

But the fact remains that the last two months have seen gas prices as high or higher than those of the highest two months in 2008.
The last time prices were at a record high (inflation adjusted) was when Al Gore was contesting the election results in 2000.

I'm doing bad by getting Arco? At most of the Shell/Chevron stations where I am at, the price for their reg 87 is about the price of the cheap gas 91/93 or something.

I don't think Arco is one of the worst... my main reason for avoiding them is their paypoint system and extra charge for using a credit/debit card.
Also, Arco is more frequently targeted by credit card skimmers than other stations... likely because of the paypoint system they only need one skimmer to handle multiple pumps.
Arco has had a BIG problem with skimming out here in the IE.

But they aren't a "Top Tier" fuel.
