What are you paying for a gallon?

So a combined 88 cents in tax per gallon or are you saying the total tax per gallon is 70 cents with 18 of that being Federal tax ?

New York is higher.
California's politicrats in Suckramento just approved another increase, but it will bring the total California taxes to .41.
It's currently .38 for gas and .12 for Diesel.

The 7.75% sales tax does not apply to fuel, food, and other items considered "necessities", instead it's a 2.25% "gasoline sales tax"
There is another .02 for underground storage tanks.

So the "sales tax" on $4.21 is about $0.09, not the $0.32 you'd pay for a Starbucks latte. Brings our total to 36+9+2 $0.47. That will be going up $0.035 in July.
Total .51 plus the Fed .18 for total gasoline tax of about .69.

 

My mistake, it does include the 18 cent federal tax. So not 88. 70.5 of which 52.5 cents is California tax.

Got $1.00 off per gallon using our Smiths points, so we filled up the girlfriends car and my truck at 2.55 per gallon. ohh and this was 87 octane

 

Back down to $3.35 a gallon here.....87 octane.

 

here in philadelphia we currently pay 3.64 a gallon.

 

Gas is supposed to go up to cover the cost of "Cleaner Fuel".

 

Bullshi! Its all a bunch of bullshit! 3.75 per gallon yet in december I was paying 2.99.

How is it that expensive for you peter, when you have all that oil up there?

 

We send oil to the States to be refined and buy back gasoline , plus a higher portion of the cost is in taxes here than in the States

There is a big push to increase our refining capability domestically but it will probably stay pretty much as is with us being a raw resource exporter , similar to raw log exports

We are definitely moving towards more oil exports to Asia to break our exclusivity with American markets
