    I was thinking the same thing when I bought my TRD ORSB in November last year. Got an okay deal at the time but now looks good.

    Just got word that my allocation was accepted with a build date of 6/2. Lead times are crazy... I got everything I wanted, but Toyota was requiring the advanced tech package. I'm not pumped to be paying an extra $900 for a couple cameras, do I have any options? I'm thinking not, but wondering if I could add a few accessories and see if Toyota will drop the AT. Am I SOL? Might also try to see if the dealer will match the discount we agreed upon previously, especially since they forced me to put down an non-refundable deposit.

    I said "Dang man... You also want my my liver or kidneys as well???"" -- this was also from one of the largest volume dealers on the east coast. Crazy.

    You would have thought it was a Pro. They sent me the sheet. MSRP $44k on an offroad. Dealer markup was $49k.

    Sounds pricey for the easy cost. What state? I’m paying $3k under msrp (before any incentive) for manual off road regular tech and leather/sunroof. Granted we worked out the pricing 5 weeks ago.

    I’m in MA. PM me I’ll give you more details. Maybe things have changed with the delays? Not sure but $5k over mar for an off road sounds terrible. Might be worth making the drive up and having an enjoyable ride home in a Tacoma.

    Weird. I’m on the east coast and just got quoted $40,134 on a loaded as you can get TRDOR automatic that had an MSRP of $43000.

    Had struggles and will likely try a different area dealership next time, but here's mine.

    2021 DCSB TRD Sport 4x4, Cement Grey, with options: Tech package, LED Headlights and Fog lights, all weather rubber mats and door sill liners, mud flaps, chrome exhaust tip.

    MSRP $40,349
    Paid: $39,500

    I made them find it and have to trade one of theirs to another dealership 350 miles away to get it for me within my one week timeframe, and was dead set on getting it so I didn't push real hard on price. Still walked away happy and I'm sure the dealer guy got a nice steak dinner off me.

    I was VERY LUCKY. I found a pro 3 hours away that just came in - they had calls from as far away as Colorado - they had it sold many times over but since the dealer was in the middle of Kentucky farm lands and really far from any large airport, no one could fly in and pick it up easily. I beat others to it simply because I was close by and could drive there.

    Very small dealer- they had only 1 Tacoma - and this was it. 500.00 off of retail was the best I could get.

    Apparently dealers in Colorado are trying to get as high as 64000.00 for TRD pro’s!

    My dealer was trying to include the $1700 tech/sound package, and the $600 tech/bsm/rear traffic alert package saying if they did not include it toyota wouldn't accept the allocation and i would be waiting 6+ months. Ended up dropping the $1700 package, but kept the $600 because I wanted the color keyed bumper and don't mind the BSM anyways. My allocation was accepted and build date of 5/24. I'm sure toyota would have accepted it even without tech package but oh well.

    I'm wondering how much the dealer is pushing the extra $900 because they gave me a $2500 discount and told me they were "below invoice". They told me that they couldn't do anymore discount with the added package and "hoped I'd see the value in the truck that was allocated" I had a good feeling about the salesperson and dealer when I ordered, but now I'm feeling duped. Car buying is so frustrating. I found a couple other options that I may pursue if I can get my deposit back. The first is the same truck with advanced tech coming to a dealer about 2 hours away. The only advantage there is that they have the truck coming in the first week of May, likely 6-8 weeks before I'd see the one I ordered.
    The second is the dealer in Boise a few people have talked about. They have the exact truck I originally ordered, allocated to be built 5/13, so arriving 3 weeks before my local dealer. At their prices and better Toyota incentive it would be worth it to take a flight and cross country trip home.

    Live in Nevada, purchased by phone from a dealer in Iowa. Found their inventory online using a online inventory website like cars.com. Nobody on the west coast was selling at MSRP, they were all marked up at the time (December 2020). Financing done through Bank of America car online financing tool (all automated no human interaction involved).

    Purchase Date = December 2020

    Price = $48,931.00
    Doc Fee = $180.00
    Title Fee = $700.00
    Nevada Tax = $4,097.97
    Shipping = $1,200.00 (Iowa to Nevada, could be cheaper. December is horrible time to ship)

    Total Cost = $55,108.97

    Financed = $50,000 @ 2.49% 5 years
    Down Payment = $5,108.97
    Monthly Payment = $888.06

    My Credit Score at the time = 720
