Yes. I was racking my brain today over why a Tacoma from a dealer seemed so expensive than another dealer. Turns out the MSRP before add ons was $600 higher.

Bought through Costco Auto Program. Great experience, only thing the dealer tried to sell me on pickup day was extended warranty, which I declined.

Placed my order 4/2, dealer contacted me 4/9 saying it was scheduled to be built 05/24. Build date pushed back to 5/27. Delivery to dealer expected 6/9, arrived 6/10. Picked up 6/12. Total wait time was 72 days since I placed my order/deposit. Built in Baja Mexico, delivered to Colorado region.

Put 200 miles on her day 1, had a blast, already love her.

Some SoCal dealers are getting $5k premium as the overall market is hot and certain Tacomas new are white hot.

Yup, MSRP is prior to dealer stupid add ons like $200 nitrogen filled tires. This formula, as used in the previous post, will help you sort through that. The percentages are from a couple months ago but are not even really applicable anymore because pretty much anything off MSRP is a really good deal.
    1% off =average good deal
    3%=good
    5%=very good
    7%=excellent
Accurate Gauge of Tacoma Price Info:
    1. Year, trim, color, transmission, bed
    2. MSRP(before dealer add ons)
    3. Options
    4. Cost of dealer add ons- (tint, floor mats, nitrogen, etc)
    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate
    6. Discount 1-(#5/#2)*100=% off MSRP)
    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash)
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD)
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim)
    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value
    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade)
    12. Date purchased

if you are interested in a warranty and as long as you haven’t already bought a warranty, contact this dealer. They will beat the hell out of whatever price they offered you for a warranty.

Waiting on my Cement TRD OR 4x4 to arrive in 40 days. Ordered it a month ago. Got them to give me a discount down to $40,367 before taxes and dealer fee BS. It does come with the tech package, predator step up, led headlights, etc. Waiting until it arrives to hit them up for the TRD lift kit or TRD Pro wheels. We’ll see if they bite. Harder now of course with demand vs supply, but we’ll see.

Actually, what I meant to say was at Concord Toyota their MSRP prior to stupid add ons is $38,140 for the TRD off road 4x4 AT. At Sunnyvale, the MSRP before stupid add ons is $37,530. Maybe Toyota updated the MSRP and some dealers haven't changed it?

are you sure these trucks were identical? when I was shopping around I was finding trucks that were very close in MSRP but there was always a difference like one had mudflaps or spare tire lock. All of the trucks I priced were in the same PNW region though.

    Hey Guys,

New to the site, as just bought my first Tacoma and had not bought a Toyota in almost 30 years. As for prices I paid sticker for Md Bl 2021 TRD Offroad. Even though it goes against my principal. The only factor add ons were Bed lights, tailgate lock, fog lights and "Premium" mats. $40,030 (base $38,775) And of course the damn Dealer add-ons of tint, protection package and nitrogen tires. $899. I tried to negotiate some but they were having and I knew I would loose it to the next guy if I tried to hard. I did get the Toyota $500 rebate

FYI bought it 5/21/21 and the Taco had been on the lot for 4 days not one person had called about it except my wife. BTW, I would not have it, if it was not for her. She called every dealer in OK and about 10 or so in TX. Several of the smaller dealers in OK told her they were going to add $2500 to sticker because of the demand.

I placed my deposit on this truck back on April 19. I called almost all the dealerships in Florida to try to get the best deal. The Premium off-road package was a must for me and I had to have it. Many of the dealership I spoke with did not want to budge on the MSRP. So Finally got in touch with a dealership in Tampa and they gave me the lowest price compared to all the other ones I spoke with. Overall I am happy with what I payed for the truck. I did put a total of 10k down payment. I also financed thru NAVY FEDERAL and have an interest rate of 2.04%

4k off MSRP right now is essentially unheard of. How'd you do it?

When I called the dealership, I had told the salesman that I had spoken with several other dealerships and have purchase proposals from them. I didn't tell him upfront what the proposal numbers were but that I was a serious buyer and told him that I am willing to put a 10k down payment. He put me on hold to talk to the general manager and when he came back he hit me with the number I payed for the truck. I didn't even try negotiating after that and told him I'll take it lol. All the 10+ dealerships that I had spoken with wanted MSRP or would only come down a couple hundred dollars. There was a dealership in Daytona Florida that offered me around 43k but I still wasn't happy with that number. I also didn't want any add ons on the truck like the steps, emblems, etc because I can always do those for cheaper

Yeah I'll check it out in the future. IDK I personally think extended warranties are all scams, but if I could get a low enough price I might consider it. Thanks for the suggestion, I've seen them mentioned here before.

Yeah, I am not sure what I’m going to do either. But as long as you’ve never purchased a warranty for it, you can get it anywhere until the three years or 36,000 miles so I’ll probably wait till then and make a decision

Here’s my breakdown: I had already posted my sale but not in this format, easier read than my previous post.
    1. Year, trim, color, transmission, bed: 2021, TRD PRO, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Manual, 5 foot bed
    2. MSRP (before Manufacture, or dealer add ons): $45350.00
    3. Options: Toyota installed options: Toyota Guard, Touch Keypad Entry System, LED Interior Light Upgrade, Phone Cable & Charger w/two USB Ports, Dealer Installed Equipment: OEM Door Sill protector, OEM Bed Mat, TRD PRO Floor Mats and Tinted Windows
    4. Cost of add ons: Toyota Window Sticker with Options was $46796.00 With dealer installed options: $49583.00
    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate: $46796.00
    6. Discount: None
    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash): none
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD): $48814.00
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim): 2019, Chevy Colorado ZR2 Diesel
    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value: $36,000 - $38,000 at the time
    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade): $41962.11
    12. Date purchased: 3/26/21
    13. Financed: $24471.00. no cash was given and ended up paying less in my monthly than I was for the ZR2. About $10 less a month.
    14. State purchased: Florida
The dealer gave me $4462.11 more than any other dealer would offer me on the trade-in and I was suppose to give them $500 to bring me balance owed on the ZR2 to an even number. I never gave them the $500 and they listed and likely sold my trade-in ZR2 for at least $2000 less than they gave me for it.

Good catch. There was a slight difference. The more expensive was a long bed, so I can see why therr is a difference now.
