Try all your discounts. I went there a couple years ago and between USAA and COSTCO...won!

Also after the “negotiations “ stand firm and get add ons like trim things etc

Just stay firm and you might find a good deal!

Why the older style sport wheels on a 2021...? Did you put those on, or did it come like that?

Maybe it has changed in the last few months but when I bought mine back in May, the only model they were upcharging for was the TRD Pro. Everything else was pretty much MSRP with little to no discount.

I hate the newer Sport wheels. They look like Corolla wheels IMO. Always had a weird obsession with the older Sport wheels so I found a guy willing to trade wheels.

it was last year before inflation hit. thankfully that is when i bought mine. these trucks will never sell for under 40k again and things will never go back to 'normal'. this is the new normal.

    It's a novel....sorry. I do believe you'll have 1 package included (LED headlights/fog). Think that's now a pkg requirement for Army Green.

MSRP for Army Green Off-Road DCSB 4WD Auto is $38k. You should be able to come in under that, plus any rebates Toyota MIGHT be offering at this point. (Prolly not much).

In April I bought an AG Off-road DCSB 4WD plus the $5100 premium package. Also came with bed lighting kit, door edge guards, powder exhaust tip, upgraded floor liners, bed mat, and door sill protectors. I paid $41k new. This did include a $1k rebate from Toyota because I financed elsewhere. I didn't really have much bargaining power. I had to drive from KC to St Louis (and the dealership knew it), demand was super high with low inventory, and the AG Off-road with premium package were really hard to come by.

I literally had to track this truck down while it was being shipped from manufacturer. Found it on the general Toyota site stating it was being shipped to within 200 miles of my location. I looked at every major city's dealership sites until I found a new arrival (without a picture) where the specs matched the truck from Toyota's site. No dealer was willing to tell me where it was getting shipped....they just said they'd try to trade for it when it landed but it was unlikely. Rented a car for $50 and drove to St Louis - Hertz was 3 blocks from dealership and they met me there!

Anywho, you can wait until supply comes back up or start increasing your search radius. What better way to celebrate a new truck than road trip it back! Guess you could also wrap your truck if you found a good deal in a different color.

Not sure where to post this but a new listing caught my eye at the local dealer. Tacoma SR5 V6 4x4, tube step, mudguards, tonneau cover. TRD Lift Kit, TRD Grill, Duratrac tires, tinted windows. $45k. Texted my rep, not sure if it's still available. Put a deposit on a sport but I like the idea of a factory lift with a full warranty. Good price or just stick with the sport?

    @tacomto 45k for any SR5 is a joke. I don't care what the cab/bed configuration is. I'm paying 45k for a DCLB OR w/ premium OR

I’ve been doing the quote dance for a couple months now. Recently it feels like things are starting too cool... 2.49% for 72mo incentive isn’t too bad either.

even so, it’s taken a bit of back and forth to whittle down to $200 below MSRP, after the dealer fee is considered (OR 4x4 DCSB w/ Tech Pkg).

Another has offered $500 below MSRP through Costco auto, no dealer fees. Same build. Super tempting...

Quick, someone convince me it’s worth holding out another week or two

Everything is a gamble right now. IMO, anything below MSRP and with a 2.49% rate is worth pulling the trigger. We're talking around $40k right? How much of a difference does 1 or 2k really make vs. the risk you might be taking of not finding another vehicle, or interest rates skyrocketing (even though they are supposed to be relatively stable). This is what convinced me to just do it. I wanted to be able to use my truck ASAP.

Figured as much. I speced it out on Toyota's website and it comes out to be $39,600. Throw in the tires and tint and it's still at the cost of a sport with some options and they want a few thousand more. Bummer because it's exactly what I would want to do with my truck and it's nice to have the warranty.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Total OTD is $42,230 which just sounds a little too stiff for a naked OR with Tech. But your comment has me reconsidering... it would be nice to drive off the lot with one.

If it makes you feel any better everything around here is listed between $39-42k in the sport and or trims and that isn't with tax. So I would say $42,230 otd isn't a bad price right now. I've said before my dealer didn't even have trucks when I went to look, just 18's I could test drive.

@tacomto just my thoughts but I cannot fathom paying Toyota ~3k for 1". For under 1k you can put 265/75/16s on it and get a little extra height. Or find some Sport 17" wheels and put 265/75s on them and get 1"
