What are you paying for your 2021 Tacoma? (price thread)

its actually on the lot I just won’t be able to pick it up for two weeks so put a deposit down

 

Looks like a good price. What packages/options are on that truck? Are you getting it in the Columbus, OH market? I'm looking there as well. Thanks!

 

Floor mats, phone cable and charger package, and tech package. This is over at Naples, FL. I emailed and called around Miami area and they all quoted me around 42k OTD for a base Taco TRD OR 4WD AT. I couldn't get a better deal than 38.8k. Good luck man!

AJ at AutoNation Arapahoe in Colorado is who I’ve been dealing with, and when I put my deposit down he said my AG OR was “on the truck” and it would be here soon (he’d call me with an exact date and total price). So I put my deposit down to get it reserved and the weekend goes by and no call after the weekend. I call, I text, I leave a message. I let him know that I found a Pro for under MSRP in Montana and ask him if he’d match that. He tells me that’s $10K over MSRP and my deposit is non refundable. I call him and leave him a message to clear up the confusion, and he sends me a text back saying he’ll get me a date. I call a few more times after no contact I finally got through to someone else to look it up and it turns out it’s totally not on a truck or on its way. I don’t even know if it’s built yet. A couple of days go by with no word so I call again today. He answers! He tells me he told me the arrival date already (he didn’t. I confirmed with my wife that I’m not crazy — no text, no verbal, no phone call). 10/12-12/24. I still don’t have a Costco price and now I’m worried that they’re going to pull a bait & switch on me somehow.

I was resisting outing this dude because he seemed pretty on the level for a sales guy, but now I’m kinda irritated. Does anyone know if I can get my $1K back or should I just ride this out (or am I just overreacting?)

 

There was another member here that posted up in the last week with problems from that dealership as well. He paid for LED fogs and they gave him the regular halogen fogs and replaced the lights with LEDs.
I'd see if you could talk to another person at the dealership to see if their information lines up with your salesman's.

 

Yeah I'm wondering if I really have led fog lights and headlamps. Shows on the window sticker that I do but they look, like the white regular ones. Hard to tell either way and I have to check, with the sales guy to make sure.

 

What's the sales sheet say? If you plug the VIN into the toyota site, it should list everything it's coming with (other than dealer add ons). If the line says something like "LED Daytime running lights + fog lights" it means Toyota built it with LED daytime running lights and halogen fog lights.

My 2020 was just LED DRLs and my low beams + high beams + fog lights are all halogen.

 

Damn. I am selling my second gen, maybe I should just keep it.

 

I would be in that dealership raising hell, if not local to me I would be calling and speaking to everyone I can. This is shady business for sure. At my dealer I placed a $500 REFUNDABLE deposit, they said I could see the truck first and make sure no damages etc and they will not show it to anyone else until I buy or decline. Truck was a week out and they called me 2 times during that week to tell me it is still being delivered as expected. They were courteous and professional with me even when I was on the grumpy side towards them during negotiations after working 12 hr shifts all week. Expect nothing less than professionalism. That truck is coming out of your pocket for the next X years.

I totally did. I’m sure it was somewhat binding, but I didn’t really read it like a moron. I’m guessing I have a case for a refund if I can prove breach of agreement.

 

I think if you utter the words "breach of contract," you'll get some attention, and either a better deal or your money back. I'd call his manager and give him a chat about it. Maybe ask to switch salespeople based on poor customer service. If his commission is on the line, he's bound to step up his game, if not just for the next customer.

My deposit is nonrefundable, too, but I made sure I could transfer it to another vehicle should I not be impressed with the one when it's delivered.

 

9.99% interest? Wow, that is terrible bad.

Edit: that 60 months with $6k down - you end up paying over 10k in interest, totaling ~51k over the life of the loan... Add the original 6k down payment and your truck cost you $58k. RUN AWAY.

Edit 2: Just saw that that's an average APR... not necessarily what you're getting. Either way, to hell with high interest loans like this.

I agreed to terms today on a 2021 TRD Off Road 4x4 with Tech Pkg, Cargo Bed LED, Phone Cable and Charge Pkg, All Waether Floor Mats, Clear Paint Protection - Door Package, Tailgate Power Lock, Toyoguard Platinum. The truck is Cement in color. The sticker is $41,158.00. Sale price $38158.00. It is scheduled to be here in a week or so.
