The sales guy actually told me about you over the phone when i said i'd be flying in..small world, nothing personal just "we had a customer actually just drive back to PNW in his tacoma recently." I was also pitched those along with an extended warranty, i was like "dude i'm buying a NEW toyota" w/ warranty however i get his point, they are a lot more complex than the old gen 1 and 2's but no plans of any extended warranty for a brand new car unless they want to drop the protection package and give me the extended warranty instead, then i'm game.

I did, i asked 4 days ago and he never sent them along with a picture of my truck which i plan to use in my argument since there is email documentation. However we've confirmed selling price is the MSRP and $220 doc fee which is low in comparison to anywhere around here let alone the truck doesn't exist or is 10% markup. If i'm forced to take package it won't be the end of the world, deductibles are free and in 3 years claim a key was lost and probably replace the rear tires after they wear and some nails mysteriously puncture both, easy to re-coop those costs including the installation labor. Also looking for a short adventure and if they are indeed ripping me off i'll leave even if i look like a fool; flight there is free, free trip to dealer, and worst case scenario home maybe $150 and a day wasted. Plus I've never been to Detroit so i can add that one to my travel book!
Thanks man, i plan to bring it, I hate fees having worked for a dealer and realize you need to pay to play these days.

Geez, some dealers are going for the max up here in Canada. I'm waiting for the delivery of my 2021 LR Pro next week and paid MSRP which is pretty much $10k under what this dealer is asking. I got a bit lucky yes, but $10k above MSRP? Plus mine will have less km's! Lol

    $29,475 (msrp)
    $31,675

    $400 security etching
told them to take off the $900 dealer add on and $400 etching markups
    paid $29475 + 1175 standard destination fee.

The dealer said either buy it or someone else will 30 minutes after I leave, which was true. This was in the Portland Oregon metro area where there are next to zero new cars on any lots. 2wd versions were available around $26,000 without remote locks or rear seats. Didn’t make sense to me to pay $2-3000 extra for a SR5. Sr5 comes with fender flares, 8 inch infotainment and a leather steering wheel cover, +\- styled rims.

Oregon has a .05% CAT tax which was $147 and no sales tax.
Sold my white 2006 regular cab 2wd Tacoma with 104,000 miles bone stock in late June private party at the height of kbb value. $12,500

4 cylinders were hard to come by. When I purchased mine only 26 had been sold between Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. The micro chip shortage messed everything up. The dealerships are fronting by lining the street front with used cars. Radio commercials keep telling people to bring in their cars because they have no inventory. Got mine from Milwaukee 15 minutes after they posted it online. Originally put money down in May with capital. Was told it would be here by mid July, called them July 1 and they told me mid August. I moved to Michigan July 24. They refunded my money which was cool. Milwaukee had 15 people call and ask about my truck but I was the first one on it. I was a delivery driver for the Portland and Salem metro area, all of the dealerships are putting on a front not just Toyota. They have no inventory, or at least they had no inventory in June and July.

I got a little bent over on this as well, however i plan to use 2 of the services and the last is bullshit, I'm going to give the sales guy a chance to refund it before i review him with Toyota. The wheel and tire and key fob replacement can easily rack up the cost alone.

Check your state laws on documentation fees, the states may set a range limit and you can negotiate for the lowest limit fee. Also, I checked with the state better business laws on the deposits, and if there isn’t a clear statement of wording in your receipt that says non refundable or a vin number representing the actual physical vehicle, then you can get your money back.. at least that’s what I was told by the lawyer. Toyota assigns a pre-vin before the vehicle is built that isn’t the actual vin of the physical vehicle. It takes an average of 45 days from start of build to get to the dealer. “Average”

Hey soon to be Tacoma brother!

First, we are talking about a 2WD correct?

Second, how many miles did you have on your Ranger? It looked like they might have low balled you on the amount of the trade, then again it depends on the miles you had on the truck.

No, 4WD. Sorry, I was unclear.

    Ranger had 180k on it.
Based on mileage KBB Average trade in was like 2800 based on a quick search, so they weren't overly "nice" on the trade, but they didn't kill me on it either.

Considering the current market, it sounds like you got a great deal because you live in NH and don't have to pay sales taxes. That is so so cool! Congrats!

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
I paid $43,6XX out the door for a '21 TRD O/R 6MT with advanced tech/4 way cam/LED package, bed lights, floor mats, and bet mat. Very average. Still worth waiting since March.
