@Builder1 $100 says they're spoken for. Dealers are posting already sold/reserved incoming vehicles to make inventory look better and get you the door...

This is 100% what is going on. Then they low ball your trade in value.. highly suggest selling your truck private party. Some dealerships or dealer groups have a site block also, so you can’t access kbb or Edmonds.. super shady! Do your pp value research before heading to the dealership!

I was at my local dealership here yesterday in So Cal (Temecula Valley Toyota), trying to buy a new Highlander for my wife. They had 17 Tacomas on the lot. 5 or 6 of them were SRs, with the black front and rear bumpers. They had three TRD ORs, but two of them had been sent to the local 4 Wheel Parts and had a "premium off road package" installed, which consisted of a spacer lift, an AAL, and Method 17" wheels with 285 70 R17 tires (all for the low low price of $9,999).

I was just surprised to see so many Tacos on one lot right now. It was virtually the only vehicle they had in stock. They had 1 Rav4, 4 Highlanders, and 1 Tundra, plus about 6 or 7 Camrys and 1 Corolla.

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
You got it. I was offered a Paltry $7300 for trading in my good condition 86, sold it privately for just under 11k. I will never trade in a car again, even with the tax benefit, you are still throwing away thousands. I cringed when my mom traded in her 2018 IS200T for 21k.

No trade in and focusing on finance/cash price only removes a lot of variables that are confusing, especially when you are at a dealer for hours without food and then you enter the F&I office less able to think clearly/make good decisions, you just want to get it and get out, like "alright I'll take the damn thing, just get me outta here!" That's what they're preying on.

The only O/R at the first place was a white one with a lift of unknown brand and 19" wheels with as large a tire that will fit. Automatic. That was a $6000 markup for the pleasure of making the vehicle worse in almost every way.

some are paying markup which is high way robbery. MSRP+3k markup+tax socal. me personally i would never pay markup but some have to have it right now. but if u look at it 3k divided by 60 pymts extra $50 which isnt much. its not about the total selling price its what you can pay mthly lol

I bought mine at the end of Dec. 2020. No special order, just picked up a 2021 SR5 DCSB off the lot….automatic transmission, 4x4. Everything I need and nothing I don’t.

Sticker price was just north of $37,000 and I got them down to $32,000 even. It was very hard to get them down that low.

After everything was signed the sales manager came up to me and admitted I caught them on a bad sales week and he needed to sell a truck.

Thanks!! They were the most angry about the fact that I didn’t tell them I had a trade in until after I got them down to $32,000 lol

MSRP for a MT Offroad, V6 4wd, Barcelona red.

My current car has appreciated $5k in the last 9 months so I'm taking advantage of that as a trade-in. Kinda like getting my truck for $5k under msrp

That seems expensive for an SR5. OTD so that's including tax, dest fee, etc? Automatic transmission?

I'm paying msrp $43k for a manual Offroad which includes dest fees, etc but no taxes yet

make sure the warranty they are selling you is from toyota. i had the dealer try to sell me some third party nonsense, looked up the reviews for the company online and they were abysmal.
