After walking away from a deal on a used trd sport, I've decided I'll probably go new. I stopped in the local dealership and they updated me on the current situation: pick from the limited selection that's in route, because they'll be spoken for before they even arrive.

In discussion of financing they said they would match the rate my bank is offering me, and at 72 months. My question now is, should I expect most/all dealers to match that rate (1.9), or is that going to vary by the dealer? I'd like to pull the trigger if I see an OR at another dealer in my area, but I'm not sure if I should be expecting them all to give the same financing options.

Who do you bank with that's offering 1.9% for 72 months?

Dealers love to finance as they make more money that way. Chances are other dealers will match. At least you can try to negotiate since you have other options to finance. Are you planning to add any Toyota extras to the truck ?

Will need context on that claim. New vehicle? How many months? I just looked and the best they are offering is 2.29% for 72 months. The closest I could find to 1.29% is they are offering 1.79% for 36 months.

I’m in the military, navy fed offers 2.29% for 72 months, and a 1% rate discount for senior enlisted. So my rate for 72 months is 1.29%. Best rate I could find. new 2021 Tacoma TRD off road.

I'm in the military as well and used them for a car loan last year. I've never heard of the 1% rate discount. Hmm. I've got some digging to do.

Edit: just found it. Well I'll be damned

Only 60 months, and it's genisys credit union. This dealer claimed they'll do that rate at 72 months too, and that's why I wanted to know if I should expect other dealers to offer the same.

Pricing is 40k for a fairly bare bones trd off road package. When I say bare bones, I mean no premium technology package, no predator step tubes, no door edge guards, no trifold, etc. I'm not into dealer sticker pricing on those items & I'm not into most of what they're selling. If I want them, I'll put them on. With that being said, my 2017 trd off road was 36,500 with pretty much the same options. Pretty sure they went up to 40k+ in 18 or 2019 because of added safety features. I'll be paying $40k for a 2021 trd off road this week (waiting since july). Given trade in at 32k for a 5yr old vehicle I paid 36,500 for, not horrible. I will miss my inferno color. Going to super white

That's not bad. That price for a new truck is better than used pricing right now. I'm waiting for my order through my dealer for a 2021 off-road to get accepted by Toyota. They didn't receive any allocations last month because of the chip shortage

Can you help me find the information on the 1% rate discount. I tried to look for it and could not find it. Thanks.

I had no idea this existed! Guess I know who I'll be shopping loans with when I request the allocation for my truck next year.

Hello all! New to the Tacoma club, just picked my first one up yesterday. 2021 TRD Sport, Army Green, pretty well loaded. $40,777 sticker. I'd been looking for over a month, but was finding nothing that wasn't way over-priced, high miles, and/or lacking options. Just happened to be right place/time when this one was traded in with only 5k miles on it.

I got a TRD OR with premium package a couple wks ago for 1k above MSRP. Took forever to find one and they kinda forced me (or pay 3k above MSRP) to use their financing with 4.5%, even though I already had financing approved with 1.99%. Now I just have to go through all the trouble of refinancing now..
