Got my Tacoma this morning. These guys tried to give me $300 then $500 for my '01 X5 with 209,000 miles. I said no deal, then they offered 1.99% interest rate. I said okay, I'll keep my X5 and sell it myself and add more cash. Got in the finance office and he says he can't do the rate. I'm like "you're supposed to check that shit before you offer it to customers"...he didn't like that. I told him $1,000 for trade-in or I walk. He came back 5 minutes later saying we can do the deal. I honestly was dreading trying to sell the X5 myself, it had so much stuff wrong but it ran well.

Going in tomorrow to make my deposit. Really hoping they stick to their word about 2K markup and that's it. If not I'm pulling a George Contanza and letting them "One more thing and I'm walking!'

Thanks! Did about 100 miles of driving today (forgot my garage door opener in my trade-in). The transmission felt really good in my opinion. Driving on 2 lane back roads going around 65mph, the truck rode great and performed well.

Oh okay good, I wasn't sure if it was standard or in a package. The packages are different in the US compared to Canada. It seems like US has more options or packages. We have all or nothing packages lol

Dealership will 100% bone you on the trade in. Right now used cars are worth so much money, and they are getting them for rock bottom prices from trade ins. Be 100% skeptical of everything your salesman says, he's there to move a product and suck as much blood from you as possible. Not to know stuff about trucks, least of all save you money.

Go to Carvana, Vroom, TRED, and whatever other cash-for-car website. Put in your info as honestly as you can. This will give you a quick and very easy baseline for how much you can expect ball-park from anybody. Dealership offered me $2,000 - $4,000 for my 2015 Altima SL w/90k miles. Carvana offered me $8,400 on the spot no questions asked as long as the title is clean and it starts up and runs when they pick it up. THERE IS NO PUNISHMENT/RECOURSE FOR GETTING AN OFFER AND NOT MOVING ON IT.

I cannot wait for car dealers to go out of business.

    Sorry for the late reply.

I'm going through a friend who works at Centennial Leasing in Centennial, Colorado. Overall I've been impressed by their outfit as a whole. Keep in mind I'm using a personal friend, YMMV. But so far I think everything he's doing for me is how the treat other clients. I believe operating the way they do is only Legal in 7 states. Car buying is a rather rigged sport.

Put my deposit down today, got a 2022 Limited with the Nightshade package plus running boards and mudguards for 45,768. Dealer had their 2k markup on MRSP and then a 400 Admin fee. Bringing my total to 47,369. Dealer said there would be a 2% to 3% price increase on the 2022s compared to 2021s so I will be interested to see what it comes to, as financing will be done around a month before the truck arrives in 4 or 5 months. Can't wait anyways! Almost drove home with the new trail edition truck they had on the lot, but those dumb cooler/locked storage in the back takes up some much of the bed space.

You're the first that has said they could order a 2022 that I've seen. You couldn't order a 21 ?

Had a dealer tell me today they have some 2022 coming in the end of next month. I have serious doubts as to how legit that was since I've talked to about 10 other dealers and not a single one had any idea info on 22s.

@Jakobsmirnoff dealer said it would have to be a 22, as their timeline was put in the order a few times, said 2-3 months before they accept the order. Assuming then they will only making 22's once order is accept, then 8-12 weeks until delivery but I have my doubts judging by some of the wait times I've seen on here.

Also crazy they sold two tacoma's on the lot while I was there. Some guy called from New Jersey (dealer in NH) and asked why this silver long bed was still there. Salesman said two people were looking at right now and if they didn't buy it, he could, those people didn't do it, and the guy got it! Congrats to him. There was beautiful cavalry blue TRD premium that I almost walked out with but it was 40K for a 2019 with 42K miles.

    Just starting.
Got my 2021 white trd off road at Swickard Toyota in Seattle. Paid msrp + $900 dealer added "Market Adjustment" package that included floormats and door sill guards, and some kind of dent protection bs. Around 39.5 plus tax.

They initially quoted 4k "market adjustment" above msrp, to which I said no thanks. They called back a short time later dropping it to $900. I needed the truck now, and they had the trim level I wanted so I took the deal.

Ended up getting calls back after I made this deal from Michaels Toyota Bellevue who said they were selling at msrp, but at the time they had very few to choose from.
