Such a bummer honestly. I'll just shift my color option, but still crazy to see this type of feedback.

I call BS on that because that goes well into the next model year. They don’t sound like a high volume dealer. Sounds like you need to cast your net broader and be willing to travel. That’s an uncommon truck but he makes it sound like you’re asking for a PRO.

It’s a lottery system right now, so increase your odds each allocation by working with more dealers. It takes tons of work to find those MSRP dealers and you may have to travel but you’ll get one faster and for better pricing. Color flexibility would help. Sorry you’re dealing with that.

I’ve told this story a few times, but the amount I called who were 2k+ over MSRP or who said “we can definitely order for you” not knowing I understand the system, the fact that they can’t…it’s painful. But 13+ dealers across 2 states later, truck is showing up next week.

That is my next move! Trying NE, IN, IL just to see what's out there. I'll check the link you shared as well!

You know, that's a very good point. 1 year out, would be legit the next MY. Haha. This was Mountain States Toyota in Denver, so they are fairly large. But. I don't disagree, to be a year out on a TRD ORP seems a bit over the top.

Congrats on your order coming in. What spec did you end up getting?

So I’ve heard of MST before actually, they seem to get a ton of traction on this forum. I’ve heard Colorado is the place people travel to, so I guess you’ll maybe have to consider Texas trips etc. I hope they get one for you!

I got an Army Green Trail Edition. Actually had an AG OR which was my original choice come in at another dealer, but I took the trail (knew I had a good deal at the Trail dealer, let me take port options off, etc.)!

This brings up a good point. I think we should all stay in touch with our rep after taking delivery to pass along allocations from our dealers. Mine is msrp and solid so I know I can pass someone decent options…I’ll do my best to let people know what comes in down here.

I just locked down my vin on an electric lime PRO in Greely Colorado, I live in Fort Collins but the Greely dealer has no mark up...

I did have to sacrifice ontransmission. I wanted a manual, but I still have three other dealers in different regions all looking for the manual. If and when they find it, I'll be selling the auto.

After having an 07 sport with a manual all these years, they truly are more fun to drive.

    Anyway Greely CO, zero markup

I just checked their inventory and they show a lunar rock offroad as well.

I don’t even want to drive mine, If something happens to it, they are super hard to get. It’s merely a tool in my garage at this moment.

same. I hardly ever drive mine it just sits in the garage. It’s not that I don’t want to it’s just that I work at a concrete plant and there’s concrete dust or mud every single day and it ruins vehicles. So I bought an old Honda Accord to drive out there every day and drive my truck on the weekends. It’s crazy some of my coworkers have brand new trucks and drive them out there every day and they have concrete all over their vehicles.

Mine is near the same, except DC. I got it $500 over sticker but that was because I was able to leverage it against another dealer who was holding a '22 OR DCSB, manual at MSRP for me. The former was originally asking $2100 over sticker and I said I could drive north to Phoenix and get that one for $39,290. The $2100 gave me stuff I didn't need or want, but at $500 I will gladly take the tinted windows, door edge guards, garbage sealant, and 1 yr tire protection. And I was NOT friends with the owner's daughter. But I hella made sure I did my homework when I walked into that dealership. (I ABHORRED dealing with the "numbers guy" as he called himself but his reaction was priceless when I said the dealer up North does no haggling (SmartPath). He knocked down the $2100 to $500 right quick!

Forgot to add I'm waiting too... expected delivery to dealer is between 2/10-2/15. I hope it's sooner because it was built in Mexico and I am in Southern AZ.

This is a very frustrating time to be a buyer. I have been able to save up and put myself in a position to get a new or CPO third gen. But I have run into all the problems that everyone else has been dealing with. Has anyone thought of creating a "bad dealer" thread? Ive seen this on other forums where members post up which dealers are price gouging and charging way over MSRP or adding overly priced packages like a $9,000 paint protection plan. I.E. Someone would post up dealer info and what they are overcharging.

Dealerships that use SmartPath are no haggle dealerships who sell at MSRP. There are scattered around the nation. Maybe start there?

i never knew this but the dealer I went through uses Smartpath and they sold to me at MSRP. I didn’t even try to haggle down in this market.

haha, yea, I was just kidding about that making any difference. Although she's an old friend, I only expect professionalism from her, which is all I could ask for. I was in the car biz, so she knew I wasn't going to tolerate paying over sticker. No idea when I'm getting one though. That would be cool if you get it sooner being Mex is right down the block. :)))

I just ordered a 2022 4x4 double cab TRD Sport for MSRP $45.625. I requested that the dealer addendum not be added (1,500 extra) since truck hasn't arrived yet. They agreed if I put down a 1000.00 deposit. So first time I have ever paid full MSRP and felt like I got a good deal. Expected ETA 15 Feb.

Most dealerships would not remove the dealer addendums that I called, even if the truck hasn't arrived yet.

Interesting that you have a VIN already, awesome. I do not. I didn't think Toyota dlrs could order one, only do allocation orders from the factory.

Yup! Mine wouldn't remove it, although I didn't really ask for removal of it. Just that it be reasonable considering a truck up North from where I live DID NOT have that addendum and were selling it at MRSP. Once he figured I had leverage, which I absolutely did, he immediately cut that addendum to $500 from $2100. After some thought, especially because I wanted the Sport vs the OR up North, I agreed. So I too feel like I got a good deal. The addendum had mostly useless stuff but I felt $500 for the two USEFUL things, lifetime window tint and the door edge guards ,were worth it.

My expected ETA is between Feb 10-15.
