Not the best deal, but finding a MT Access Cab in the NE is really tough. I would have been happy to skip the premium paint and tech pkg, but the color is def growing on me, and maybe I'll sell the Tonneau Cover to recoup a little.

Long-time reader, first-time poster. Just sold my beloved 100 series Landcruiser and going to buy my first Tacoma. Obviously it was a great experience selling, shitty time buying :) The best option I have found thus far is this 2022 TRD OFF Road, ADVANCED TECH PACKAGE, and one of the PREMIUM PACKAGE. https://www.reliabletoyotamo.com/ce...a-Tacoma-0b6f7c4c0a0e09a91b4e6e9affaa16bd.htm

Im aware this is at least moderately crazy but I want your opinion if this is extremely crazy.
It has 6k miles and is only 6 months old, so with CPO will have 42 month and 42k mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Alternatively, I could put on a deposit for a TRD Pro at a similar price point and wait a few months is what I have gathered on this site? Would love some expert opinions. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on quite a rare configuration, as far as they go. I mean, there are many tacos around, but that one is unicorn material in my book. Enjoy the many years of ownership!

Hey there! Saw your post, I'll chime in. In July of 21, I took delivery (after 11 week wait exactly) of a 21 TRD OR w/premium, adv. tech. and LED's. I paid 2021 MSRP of $43,530 plus $1175 destination, plus TTL in CO (Denver metro). As long as you know your comfortable paying top end of market pricing, if it is what you want, take it. If you want a very specific truck, pull up a chair, you may be waiting a while. You may or may not ever need the CPO warranty, but you'll have it. BTW, Army Green is the tits, serious respect. The adv. tech w/360 camera and MTM is nice, helps on trails or in parking lots... LED's were the best line item package IMO and I would strongly recommend them to anyone. No need to go aftermarket. The dynamic navigation is nice when pulled up on full screen, and while some say it can be gimmicky, I do like it, even if I don't use it often. The truck in the photo has K02's added, so bonus if you like them, otherwise, you'll change it to make it your own.

Not to be mean or cruel, but I think your off your rocker as far as obtaining a TRD Pro allocation at MSRP, unless you have special privilege, in which case, go get it! (Not to mention I believe 2022 allocations were stopped on April 11, or so I read in another post earlier today. I do not know the validity of that, but regardless, be prepared to wait a while for a Pro)

We are all crazy here, who knows what extremely crazy is...

I feel very lucky to have found a toyota certified TRD OR premium access cab with every option except power back glass and 360 camera. Leather 10 way seats. 10,500 miles with 26 months left of the original warranty and the 7 year drive train warranty. No chips or scratches clean as new for 39,900.00 upgraded the tires and wheels and getting Bilstein 6112 5160 shock combo installed next week. 94C15AE9-12AB-4B53-8F44-14AB02F8AC59.jpg

Thank you! This is what I was looking for. I am probably off my rocker because I don't know anyone! But I guess one thing I am missing is the *MSRP on the build your Tacoma on the Toyota site is way off? When it tells me I can build a TRD Pro with MSRP of $46k? One nice thing on the CPO Tacomas is until may they have 2.99% APR which is nice when the CPI is triple that. I appreciate the advice. I might call around to a few dealerships to see what kind of timelines they are quoting

Here is reply to my question about $1495 Fright charges added to the final price when I was looking to buy a new 4runner.

Hello,Yes, Toyota does charge a delivery, processing and handling fee to transport the vehicle from the factory to the port. Freight is a completely separate fee. It is a dealership fee to transport the vehicle from the port to the dealership. In our region freight is either embedded into the sale price or shown separately. We choose to show freight separately for transparency reasons as most other dealerships do the same in their total cost accounting.

I trust that this disclosure clears thing up for you. If not, please let me know and I will have another go at it.
    Cheers,

When I reached out to the Sales Manager... here is his response...

    Hi,

Yes, Dane’s response to your question about Freight is correct. I have Tax, tags, Freight and Processing Fee are the 4 standard charges at every dealership. As Dane mentioned, if a dealership is not charging Freight, it is because they are charging a Market Adjustment fee which is well north of the Freight charge.

    Thanks

    Michael

Talk about mark up. Portland Toyota has additional dealer mark up of 2,000 to 4,000 depending on the vehicle. And that’s above MSRP and all shipping.

Because of the shortage of Tacoma’s my 2019 TRD sport with 17 K added parts including a Magnuson supercharger . The insurance company totaled it after my crash 6 weeks ago and paid us 50K. Never thought that would happen. Have your upgrades listed with your insurance co.

I'm with you, it is absolutely bonkers people would pay these prices for a Toyota Tacoma that comes with rear drum brakes in 2022, lmao. Must be die hard Toyota fan boys.

There are no other mid size trucks that are better. The Ranger falls short and is old tech. The Colorado is not even close to the Tacoma for off road capability’s and the Toyota hold value better than any other brand. No brainer

Someone failed to mention the 2022 Nissan Frontier, you should seriously go test drive one just to feel it.... I agree about these trucks being rolling savings accounts, hence me owning one, but at $50k+ there are much much better non mid-size options that give you alot more bang for your buck. That's F350 super duty money lmao.

When asking Toyota engineers why they are still using drum brakes in 2020+ the actual answer:
Q: “Why did you decide to use rear drum brakes?”
A: “We used drum brakes because we didn’t use discs.”
Q: “ OK, but why didn’t you use disc brakes? “
A: “ We didn’t use disc brakes because we chose to use drum brakes.”

I would be more satisfied if he just said, “well we over produced rear drum brakes for the 2016 model by 10:1 per truck and we have an overstock of rear drum brake systems since 2016, so we are just going to continue to use this objectively shittier older tech.”
