Just received a quote from a dealer for a Tacoma Sport....

60k OTD. Florida tax and registration. F'ing delusional. Fortunately my first choice came through at 45k and change.

Take your time, I did a 2023 at MSRP 4x4 2.7 access cab with rear seat delete. Plus 8.25% tax. Included cheap floor mats front and rear.

I bought my 22 on September 13th and the difference in the market here makes me a little bummed but I got the color I want so it’s worth it.
Depends where you are. When I was looking a few months ago I was seeing utility cab, 4x4 for 30 and SRs with the SX package for 33. SR5 access cabs were basically the same cost of a double cab. Your friend needs to broaden his search because the market is slowly adjusting and deals can be had. But it’s definitely crazy times.

Paid $46K OTD on a 2023 TRD Sport DCLB @ Longo. They honor the MSRP as advertised.

I'm seeing the same thing. We got a Lunar Rock 4Runner Off-Road Premium when someone didn't pick it up. Looking for a new Tacoma now. I've been offered a Pro and an Off-Road so far new at MSRP but neither one in a color I want. I think below MSRP will be happening again by the spring.

Just got a 2023 TRD OR silver for $2k under msrp. Seems the market is finally starting to turn.

Toyota.com is your best friend, just filter 100 mile radius and sort prices low to high.
