Thanks. I could of bought in April when dealerships were giving away Tacoma's but I got cold feet. Takes a sting out a little. I'm in the San Gabriel Valley

I think it’s because people can use trucks to make a buck living during a shut down & while getting Unemployment benefits to help pay for it I am guessing that might be part of it.

Just got my 2021 Trd Pro Auto
    Bay Area, CA Daily city.
    Msrp
    $48,150 (had $+5000 markup which I negotiated to 0)
    Selling Price
    $48,149
$1 off sticker. I emailed 30+ dealers across 6 western US states for the last 6+ months. There are no discounts to be had on TRD pros. Especially on manuals, which have waiting lists at every dealer I contacted.
Overall I am happy with the deal, even though I gave up trying to find a manual at sticker. The auto is actually quite great.

Congrats, you'll be happy with the auto driving in Bay Area traffic. I had a manual Audi that I loved, but the trade off while driving in bumper to bumper traffic wasn't worth it. I reluctantly switched to an auto and it makes the commute so much easier.

Congratulations. That reflection on the front fender looks cool. Would be a good decal with the old school TRD colors.

Definitely. By a lot. Like he said, seems like a mistake. Especially in these times

Well, I'm brand new here and hate this thread. Just ordered a TRD Pro in MGM. No budging from MSRP. I tried another dealer in town who weren't even interested in ordering the truck for me unless I was willing to accept lunar rock. I'm just happy there was no markup on MSRP, expecting delivery middle of November.

I picked it up today. $44182 MSRP. Paid $ 40682 and they ended up having to give me the steps for $469 installed for free. It was in the initial quote that they had me sign when I put $1,000 down. I asked for the black oval steps and these were the ones that were on it. I actually like these better. image2.jpg image1.jpg image0.jpg

Quick update on Denver area. I know this'll come as a surprise to you, but the AutoNation Arapahoe guy was completely lying to me. He had no idea how the Costco Pricing works, and the truck that I put a $1K deposit down on that was 'on the truck due to be here in a few days' isn't even built yet. I escalated through Costco and they put me in touch with the GM. Turns out my truck (AG OR Double 5ft Prem + Adv + LED, Auto ) is being built on 10/31. Delivery around 11/15. Costco pricing is about $800 under invoice, which I figure to be around $42400 or so after $1K rebate (will update when I sign the papers).

The update-worthy part, though, is that I was pretty pissed so I asked the GM for a refund and he was super cool... said he'd refund my deposit if I found something sooner, but also advised me that it's pretty tough to find this truck around here. I started calling around, and he's right. The soonest I can get this truck is to stay on this list, as far as I can tell. However, when I spoke to the Mountain States Toyota dealership (Phoebe in the Costco program) they said they don't do MSRP markups -- even on Pros! So, if you're willing to wait 2-4 months for a custom built TRD Pro, you can get one in auto for around $48K. Hope that helps someone. I'd still prefer a 2020 AG Pro in Manual, but having a hell of a time finding that for < $50K. Happy hunting, will update in Nov.

They didn’t install the steps for free, you can buy those from the service dept. for $350 or less and install them in about 20 mins.
Congrats on the truck by the way, looks good.

Thanks to @CaliKat with the referral to Erick at Alexander Toyota Az. I picked up my 21 tacoma double cab 4x4 sport in wind chill pearl today. MSRP was 40.7k and without even having to negotiate he came at me with a quote for 38.4k. 2300 off msrp before $500 rebate. It Was hassle free and easy. I really recommend him after this. Final price before TTl and fees was 37.9k. Roughly almost 7% off msrp.

will get some pictures up tomorrow.

I'm in the same area as you and just bought a very similar truck (without the Premium package) a few weeks back. That's the best deal you'll find in the area (and, I think, in all of California and Reno), so I say go for it. I paid about $1,500 under MSRP, and I know that was the best deal around. Vast majority of dealers in Nor Cal are charging $3-5k over MSRP with no room for negotiation. So annoying, but, honestly, more annoying that people will actually pay that...

Congrats! Bring it to California if you want to make $10K instantly :)
$3K markup. I hate this state....

You did a good job - you have the twin of what I bought! Congrats! :bananadance::cheers:

I placed a deposit on a SR5 2021 DCSB at my local dealership on 9/28 to be ordered from the factory. Called them today to check on the status and they informed me that the Toyota manufacturing plant is experiencing problems with their double cab production. Also said that they have been delayed for an unknown amount of time until the problem is solved. Something to do with the back seat I'm told. Basically, Toyota has turned all the double cab orders into access cabs until its fixed.

The dealer says its possible that it could be until January or February before I get the truck I had ordered. My question is, has anyone else experienced this with their 2021 orders? And are you being told something in line with this as well or is the dealer pulling my leg?

Any input from your experiences would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Ordered our double cab about a month ago..build date was 10/9 and it arrived at the dealer 10/15..weeks sooner than they predicted. If there is a shortage, glad I got it when I did...
