Do you use Toyota website to find inventory?

Is cars dot com good site?

    Using truecar is also good?

Well maybe not so much with cars.com but truecar, it’s great. Just a giant rabbit hole to dive into.

Without tax, title, etc. Walked out with a 2021 Army Green TRD Off-road with LED package, Premium package, TRD skit plate for 41.5k

Edit: Illinois fucking murders you on taxes and title. So it wasn't cheap.

I would definitely look around and compare dealerships. Your getting close to a OR price. Whatever you do don’t jump on the first sheet of paper they lay down and sign it. Do some research, email some dealers. At the end of the day it’s your money your spending. If you want to throw it away just take whatever they give. If you want a good deal you may have to put in some work and be patient. Either way it’s your money and your choice.

I had an interesting experience yesterday. I was working and was near a Toyota dealer which I had not been to. I went in asked if they had any 2021 SR5's 4x4 DCSB. Sales guy says no but they are getting one in December. Anyway I was offered to opportunity for a hold on it. I was presented a sheet that stated the VIN#, Silver color the color I want. The vehicle has technology package and All-weather floor liners. I had inquired at a few dealers and they told me there was no way to get a new Tacoma without Toyota adding things. I was trying to get the vehicle with nothing added. The technology package seems good now that I see what it is. Anyway, everything is listed at MSRP on the sheet. I told the sales guy...you understand this is not my price right, I will negotiate with you? He said yes. The only requirement for the hold was for me to allow them to pull my credit. I don't have problem with that because I think it drops your score 10 points everytime its pulled and I have very good credit. Terms on this are $500 off and 2.9% but that ends I think end of November. There are no added fees onto MSRP price on this sheet other than the price of the two options at full MSRP $848, MSRP $35,305 and delivery Processing and Handling $1175. . So, in essence I have no deposit on it and nothing to lose having them hold it. If they don't meet my bottom line price they will simply allow someone else to buy it, but I get first crack on a deal. I'm thinking I will offer MSRP minus 13% and see what they say.

I am talking to many dealerships and finding that the TRD Sport and TRD Off Road price is almost the same depending on accessories added to each specific truck. I am leaning more towards TRD Sport but will still take 4x4 if the price is right.

I don’t know exactly how it works but it’s something like you can have your credit pulled a bunch of times by car dealerships within 3 months or something and as long as you buy a car it doesn’t hurt your credit. In other words you can have as many dealerships pull your credit as you want and it doesn’t affect it. I believe it’s called a soft pull. I’m not entirely sure how this works but it’s something to this effect from my understanding. If someone that knows can shed any more light on this I would be interested to hear as well.

    $200 for a fancy aftermarket phone charger? - http://mobile.accessories.setbuyatoyota.com/details/Tacoma/2018/3815/Options/CS2020/130740
    EDIT: looks like it's OEM? - $39.99 - https://www.sparksparts.com/p-integrated-dual-usb-powerport-0001600225

$699 for two oil changes? - shouldn't "Toyota care" be free for the first two years? - https://www.toyota.com/owners/parts-service/toyota-care
Edit: looks like this is in addition to the 2 years. still seems like a rip for what you get. https://www.toyotaofunioncity.com/toyoguard-platinum.htm

I'd negotiate the hell out of those. Thats some serious profit padding.

Dealer gave $17,000 on trade ... but after monies owed on the trade loan payoff the balance was $12,293.45.

I put down $10,000 in addition to the positive equity $12,293.45 from my trade-in.

I am getting a $1950 discount off of MSRP as well as "Holiday bonus cash" and a military discount.
The accessories are most definitely a rip off. I dont mind the ports but I dont even own apple products so the cables are useless to me.

The Toyoguard platinum is also a stain and scratch warranty for the interior and exterior paint. Its all port installed stuff.

nice truck man! you got the roof rails, they arent that easy to find!
was this already in the lot? I live in NJ too and i see a lot of better selection over at the dealers in PA... especially this Ardmore, PA and Allentown, PA. I assume PA is doing all the paperwork on registering it in NJ?
good luck getting plates thou... my friend bought a new car in August... still no plates! NJ DMV/MVC is backed up like a bad case of constipation!
