    Here’s one for you guys.

Waited over a month for my truck. Dealer says it arrived. I’m about to leave and my salesman calls me. The freight truck that my Tacoma was on was vandalized. He has no other info than that for me. Says some of the vehicles were broken into. Some had keys stolen. Says he doesn’t know the extent of the damages for my truck or even if there are any.

That was this morning, now I’m still waiting for an update 8 hours later. Unbelievable.

i thought 36k for TRD Sport 4x4 access cab with MT seems high.

Hi there, any info is appreciated!
That includes the Tax's ( I am trading in a vehicle so taxes will be very low)
    dealer fee of $599
    and Government fee of $27.

I will still need to pay for tag at the DMV in 2 months later after purchase.
    I hope this is clear.
    Thanks.

if the 36k is after TTL and all fees, i think the price seems good.

    Finally got mine in.

2021 TRD OR DC Long bed
    Army green
Options: Advanced off road package, advanced tech package, JBL system
Included accessories: Carpet floor mats, door sill protectors, all weather floor liners, bed mat, window tint, 2021 4 runner pro wheels and install

higher than what I wanted to pay. ordered it with out the advanced tech package but they added it anyway and wouldn’t budge. So they threw in all of the accessories above.

    $31,000 for a 2021 SR 4x4 Double Cab

MSRP started at $33,600, they knocked off $1300, I removed all options, received $500 military rebate, remaining incentives determined at time of delivery, but will be at least $500.

For anyone who plans to lift or “build” a taco, and doesn’t desire the 6 speed MT, the SR 4x4 is the way to go. Some things to consider:

    1. buying a TRD then lifting it results in paying thousands for parts (Bilstien shocks/TRD wheels) you’ll just try to sell on Craigslist for hundreds.

    2. all lifted 3rd gens need to be re-geared, it’s cheaper to just buy an SR and add an E-locker while re-gearing.

    3. do you really need crawl control???

Currently paying $286/mo 36 month 12k mile lease. Honestly left some money on the table in a few ways but not the end of the world:
    - Could have waited one or two months more for better money factor; dealer was under pressure to sell new cars but the pressure extended to the next month so I could have got the same discount.
    - Bought gap as a favor to my favorite finance manager for calling me in tier 1+ as a first time buyer with one $3200 limit credit card with 15 installments on it. Pretty hard to get upside down on a Tacoma with $1000 down and security deposits but at least it covers my insurance deductible.
    - Should have done 39 months they residualize the same at 39 as 36

My payment could probably be closer to $250 but it's okay. I've never been a fan of having the bank's name on the title but Tacomas lease better than any other Toyota and it has a few benefits:
    - Wasn't sure I wanted to commit long term to a 6MT as a daily
    - Gives me maneuverability (new generation/significant change, I can bail most likely with positive equity if Mazda announces the RX-9, buy it out and keep etc)
    - Establish a rock solid history relatively inexpensively - helps to work at the dealer and the finance department likes you. No rip off first time buyer loans for me. I've sold a first time buyer a $750 payment 72 months on a 2020 SR5.. not my job to tell him that's ridiculousness but the fuck was a grinder anyway so didn't lose any sleep

    Tl;dr under $300/mo 40k truck lul

Taxes shouldn't have been that bad, unless they capped you at the $10k which technically doesn't apply to pickup trucks (had to point that out to my dealer).

What dealer offered you below MSRP? The one by me told me that they'd add $5k to the MSRP and that was their black friday special, normally they add $10k. I'm sure I could have negotiated down to about $2-3k over MSRP, but not below - at least not at this dealership/area.
