What are you paying for your 2021 Tacoma? (price thread)

I live in kelowna,they wont negotiate price but im going to try and negotiate a lift lol

 

Is that even something you can negotiate ?

That's not bad considering a local SoCal dealer here has a 21 LR Pro on the lot and is asking a mere $58k after market adjustment.

 

That's just plum crazy. That's $13,500 more than I paid for my 2020 Army Green Pro.

I have delayed my departure a bit further... (yay! ) - which delays the Tacoma a bit further ( ).

- Hopefully the '21 new model hype, and the dealer pricing hysteria ( ) pass soon... - and the short new-car inventory, and the high used car prices, (and the COVID, and the unrest, and the economic uncertainty, and the elections, and ... ... Aahhrgggh!!!

 

I talked with Kelowna before I bought mine in Edmonton. I wanted a silver one. Got a lead from another dealer they had one. It sold 5mins before I made that call. They told me they had a red, grey and white one left. They called me back on Monday and said red and grey sold. All they had was white. They are selling like crazy, no point giving a discount when someone else is going to walk in and pay over Msrp in the next few hours.

 

Not sure what model you were looking at but all the have is black and grey.....no white ones
I am deciding between a AG or the voodoo.....no 2021s have come on the lot yet

 

If you want to buy a Pro in SoCal I found a dealership that will order what you want and won't mark it up. I searched for a 2020 for about 6 months before I found this dealer. The other dealers just play games. Go to Longo Toyota and ask for Fred. Ordered the 2020 pro with all the options I wanted no markup and no games. They work on volume. Have to put down $500 so they know you are serious. It applies towards the final price. The only downside I saw is that you will pay MSRP but I could not find any other dealers without 5-10K markup so MSRP seemed ok. I would image you could order any model that way as well. (I don't work for any dealership-just want to save others some time)

 

Just put a deposit on a 2021 TRD Off Road 4WD Double cab SB, with tech package, LED package, blackout package, all weather liners/sill protectors & mudflaps.
MSRP 40,437. I’m paying 38,031.
I’m in San Diego and no dealers in Southern California would beat this deal. I’m driving less than 3 hours to Yuma, AZ to get it when it arrives in about a month. They will handle all of the California taxes, DMV , smog etc.
Anybody else in Southern Cali frustrated like we were, it’s a short trip without traffic, they have been very nice to deal with.
Very excited to get this truck. It’s a surprise for our daughter but I have a feeling we will want to drive it too!

 

I called Longo last month about ordering our TRD OR. They wouldn’t budge off sticker. Guess I didn’t talk to the right person or the timing was bad.

 

He specifically stated you can order at sticker. Did they want a mark up ?

 

Nope, just straight MSRP. We didn’t want a Pro. Just TRD OR 4X4. We put a deposit on one today for $2400 off sticker at another dealer.

 

What changed? I thought you had said you were going to be keeping the 2020 for longer than usual because you like it so much. The pros are awesome no doubt but I just don’t think I could stomach paying full MSRP.

 

They had a white one, its clearly sold in the time since ive talked to them

I’ll probably keep my 2020, kind of wanted to have a pro in the stable at one point and I don’t know something about lunar rock. Deposit is refundable just gives me first dibs. And you’re not getting below MSRP on a new Pro color, let alone any pro minus the crazy abundance in 2019 end of year and all the dorkel ones laying around even then it was a grand or two.

 

You will still have to smog it when you bring it over , also you will need to go to any weight masters and get a official weight . I just had to do this last week . Cali sucks for anything , a good thing tho is I was able to register it as a passenger vehicle and save some cash every year but that involves a camper shell and bed rug

 

They have a place on the CA side of the border driving back they are sending me. They will have all the paperwork and be expecting me. Included in the cost of the truck. I talked to another member that did it and he said everything went smooth.
