Anyone know if the dealers can stack rebates? Dealer said he can either do the $750 lease cash or the $500 military rebate. Sounds fishy.

I don't know if its different for a lease but I just bought a truck with both the $1,000 factory rebate and $750 military rebate.

I have stacked rebates on direct purchase, but it depends on each rebate's source and terms. You should be able to get the details on each rebate to identify the terms for yourself. My experience has been that decent dealer or manufacturer financing usually results in less rebates or incentives as it kills their gains from the accrued interest. I suspect a lease would fall under this category.

I’m not entirely sure about this but I think others have stacked rebates before.

He might be referring to that you cannot stack the rebate and the favorable interest rate. You’d be surprised at how uninformed the sales people can be at times.

There is definitely supply and demand economics going on out there with the trucks. I posted in another thread over the weekend, that I feel when I bought my 2020 back in Sept that dealers were taking advantage of the low inventory - sounds like more of the same tactics. I did manage to get a 2020 TRD Sport ($39,500) for just over $35k at the time - sounds like things have gotten tougher since then.

The competition Jeep Gladiator, and Ford Ranger are benefiting the most from Toyota's S&D economics. Toyota isn't selling as many Tacomas as they have in the past, due to supply. I don't know the stats, but both Ford and Jeep look like they are building, and selling more midsizes pick ups than they have in the past few years since the 3rd gen Tacoma's debut.

You would think so, given the tight supply, but according to the stats at this website, the Tacoma is still far outselling the competition in the mid sized market.
    https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2020-us-pickup-truck-sales-figures-by-model/
I think the low supply generates even more demand. As some have posted here and elsewhere on this site, they are willing to wait.

Yes the Tacoma is still outselling the competition. I still think the lower supply
Is helping the competition, as they never built the number of trucks Toyota does, and the inflated cost of a new Tacoma drives people to consider other options like the F-150. I don't think many pick up buyers consider the Gladiator due to price, and practicality.
