Purchased my first truck last weekend. TRD 4x4 sport DCSB with tech package. Silver sky metallic.
    MSRP @ $39,255
Got price down to $35,541 with $750 rebate included.
Add taxes, doc fee, lic. fee, EVR. No trade in, no extras.
    OTD @ $38,733.91
Very happy with purchase and purchase price.

The current incentives expire tomorrow. Any ideas what will come 3/2?

Purchased mine from Toyota of Fox Lake.
Not sure what incentives will be. In January, Toyota was offering 1.9% financing or $750 cash rebate. February took away the 1.9% financing option.
I guess we will find out tomorrow what Toyota will give. No sense speculating. However, it's hard for them to keep these trucks in stock. The demand for Tacomas seem to have increased during this pandemic.

I contacted 21 dealerships within a 3 hour drive of my house on 1/2/2021 following a camping debacle with my former vehicle. Most dealers responded. Many wanted $5-10k over MSRP for "market adjustment". None of those offering no markup had any gray TRD Pros allocated at the time. I put a deposit down at a different dealership, while disclosing they were in competition with others--essentially putting a deposit on a hypothetical truck that hasn't yet been planned/allocated.

It took about 6 weeks from decision-to-buy to keys in-hand. I ended up going with Foothills because they were nice normal not pushy people, no add-on crap on the lot, and among the lower tax rates in the state. Bonus: it gave my wife reason to go to the outlet mall nearby the dealership, which gave me a chance for some inaugural (outlet) mall-crawling.

The last Pro Foothills sold they had it on the lot unspoken for. Some guy from California took a flight up to Seattle then ubered the 100 miles north to the dealership to pick it up.

I bought a truck from them in 2015. A 2016 SR in Silver. I enjoyed my experience there.

Yeah I feel you on that man. California makes things financially tough on all fronts. I might have to go out of state to purchase. I'm still aiming for a taco but I hear the 2022 Frontier might make a push to finally compete. We shall see.

So between the desired spec, semiconductor shortage (edit: there is no shortage, see below), and needing 4 wheels after being without for nearly a year, I bit the bullet. For the deal shoppers, I would disregard this post. After the help others provided in this thread and elsewhere, I wanted to add my datapoint.

The dealer charged me $299 to remove the Tonneau Cover and Predator tube step, denoted below with (*). The cost was less than what I'd lose in time and resale so I acquiesced. They removed the floor liners at no charge, also noted with (*).
    1. 2021, TRD Off-Road, Cement, M/T, DCSB
    2. MSRP - $44,675
    3. Options - $1700 Advanced Technology Package, $485 LED Headlights, $3375 Premium Package, $415 Black out package
    4. Add ons - $650 Tonneau Cover(*), $248 All-weather floor liner(*), $129 mudguards, $649 Predator tube step(*), $399 Roof rack
    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate - $41,427 ($1000 rebate, $1000 dealer discount, $1248 accessory(*) deletes)
    6. Discount 1- (MSRP - deleted accessory values) / Price before TTL: ~4%
    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash) - $1000
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD) - $44,835.07
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim) - N/A
    10. Kelley blue book trade-in value - N/A
    11. Trade allowance(amount given for trade) - N/A
    12. Date purchased - 02/2021
    13. State purchased - VA
Again, subpar discount but it was worth it to get the spec I wanted and end a year-long car hunt. Really happy to be part of the community and thanks to everyone for your help.

First, congrats! That truck is a great value. Was just stating this for others because it seems to be a common misconception.

Yes, congrats. If you feel good about your deal and happy with the truck, that's what counts. I haven't used my truck in a year (since last March) and on the fence now with a 2021 or wait for the 2022's?

    Thank you!

Question: what has you looking at the new ones if you haven't used your truck since the first US lockdowns?

I definitely recommend rural areas that have a metropolitan city nearby. Find a volume dealer there and you’ll be in business. Good luck!

Yeah, I am very happy with the transaction, and especially the truck!
I hate to sound like a skeezeball, but pit these dealers against each other. Look for better deals in other states, mine was from SC fyi, and use them for negotiation. Don't feel bad about it either, they will try to take as much money from you as they can, so feel free to return the favor. Good luck!
