Wheel of Time is fantastic! My school library had the whole set, up to that point (08'-09'). I hope the upcoming T.V. show does it justice.

I read that before I did the trail back in 2010, well, half the trail. Life got too serious too quick and I had to cut it short.
    Good book though.

I also worked at a dealership and I appreciate your signature quote!

The Mistborn Series is legit. I felt like it started out as a tween type book series, but by the end...whoo boy!

Making my way through The Dark Tower series currently.

My other long haul read is the Wheel of Time series. On book 4 after about 8 years, lol.

It has been many years since I read Wheel of Time I thought the first books were great then they became bland when that happens I just sit those books aside when the time is correct I will pick them up again.

This happens to me over the years it always has it has nothing to with the author or genre it spans them all.

If it does not hold my interest it gets put down.

Then it also goes the other way I put the book down when the Alarm goes off

Funny, my dad was the one who gave me the first Wheel of Time book and said the same thing. He was like the first ones are great but I wouldn't recommend trying to get through the whole series.

Just a guess but Robert Jordon might have gotten a deal to write so many words or so many books in a certain time period.

Then was really pushed to meet the deadlines Then it could have been editors that enforced changes that hurt the story line.

    Who knows just my thoughts

Just curious about everyones thoughts on e-books. I personally don't like them. I like going into a bookstore and browsing around, maybe stumble across a book that seems interesting. That's how I got into Matthew Reilly. Fast paced and action packed.

I used to be the same way, but about 10 years ago I got one of the Kindles for Christmas. I found that I could "buy" out of print books and classics and hard to find books for free or much cheaper than a used book. And once I got the Kindle app on my phone, it made it even easier. and I am a voracious reader, couple novels a week in some cases.
Since then, I think I have bought maybe 20-30 paper books, but over 20x as many e-books, and if you include compendium/omnibus/collection types, add another hundred. Since I have Amazon Prime, i can also easily borrow and keep a lot of books as well.

The Kindle app is definitely the way to go though, i haven't picked up my actual Kindle in several years.

    Traded it in.

Thanks for the recommendations. Stormlight Archives is a great series. I'm actually rereading WOT now. Trying to get a few books read before the show comes out in Dec. (i think). I will have to check out the others when I get a chance.

I'm sort of on both sides of the argument.
I love actual books, the smell, the feel of the paper. I think the quality of my reading experience is much better than with an e-book.
I also bought a kindle back when the were first getting popular and I loved it, the e-ink display is great and like @strider98 said, you can get loads of books through the store. I wish they had an sd card slot but, I still might get a new one eventually.
