I know there are threads for what people like to listen to, and so forth, but what about your favorite reading material? And I don't mean magazines, but real books! I just finished working through all 8 books of "The Iron Druid Chronicles" by Kevin Hearne. Any other favorites?

1st thread I have seen on TW about books- I like to read history and biography mostly and happened upon a book that really rocked my world a few years back-
    http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17736859-the-story-of-the-human-body
I have gone back a few times to re-read it, and can honestly say I am a more healthy person because of the insight provided.

    Good luck with the thread-

I've always been a huge fan of John Grisham and Michael Crichton... I've read most of their books. Currently reading an early 90's Grisham, The Client.

Yea Micro was a decent one... It was actually completed by another author after Crichton passed away. His books State of Fear, Jurassic Park, and Andromeda Strain are among my favorite books I've ever read.

Love to read and working through several at this time. Currently reading "The Guns of Empire" by Django Wexler and also "Southern Storm: Sherman's March to the Sea" by Noah Andre Trudeau. Two of my favorite genres, the American Civil War (or the War of Northern Aggression as we from the south call it) and Fantasy.

I recently read Bull Mountain by Brian Panowich, it's his first novel, and it was really good. It's kind of a Mountain community outlaw type story. Great read! For anyone looking for a new author you should check it out. I'm looking forward to his next book!

And he's got great taste in cars, too! I've been to the Cussler Car Museum in the Denver area, where all of "Dirk's Cars" are located.bookx-large.jpg

I really prefer series, such as the Games of Thrones, Tom Clancy's books, Shogun series, Michael Chrichton's books are a good read, just finished up a collection of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and even the Harry Potter series.

I think ive read almost all of his books so far! theyre captivating and easy to read. I got to the point where I could knock out two of those books a week!

Great thread! ive been debating whether it would be worth trying to do a book swap thread type deal, but just haven't gotten around to it nor did I think it would go very well.

anyways, im offshore a lot so we end up reading a lot of books. I just finished up "The Vital Question" [IMG] and am currently reading "Dead Wake" [IMG] Sorry for the large size of the pictures haha. Erik Larson writes some good books. "Devil In The White City" was also a damn good book by him.

Presuader by Lee Child. In fact, i'm reading all of the Jack Reacher novels. I think Persuader is # 6 or 7 out of 20 novels. I'm also a fan of Patrick Lee and Matthew Reilly.

I've really been wanting to read the Harry Potter books... I never read them as a kid, but I love the movies. I have trouble getting thru books that I've already seen the movie tho. I tried reading the Hunger Games after watching the movies and just couldn't get through the second book...

My father met Michael 20 yrs or so back in Boston at a bookstore..not a signing or anything, just total chance meeting. My dad had another book in his hand and was browsing when Michael started talking to him. My dad picked up one of his books and Michael said "would you like me to sign it for you?"
