Black Summer is good, glad you guys mentioned it on here...hadn't heard of it before. Little different take on the zombie TV series genre, I dig it

 

Zombies run too fast. Seem too smart. And "turn" so quickly. Plus no one heard of a head shot? (it's early in the apocalypse and yes there are some great head shots)

Still too much fun!

 

yeah I don't understand why they don't go for the head more often, on the other hand the constant perfectly aimed headshots in shows like The Walking Dead also gets pretty old and hard to believe.

Black Summer zombies remind me of the ones from 28 Days Later, like rabid animals...to me that's way more terrifying than the thought of slow ones. Its a fun show for sure

 

I liked it.

A bit drawn out. There are some great factoids and details I knew nothing about.
(ok I was out at $150/share, got in at around $24 but too scared to have that many shares, so I still own a Taco)
I did NOT know Bernie (fcking) Madeoff invented volume pay trading
I like how WSJ actually has some balance (unlike much of the media docs)
I never hung around long enough to connect with roaringkitty but I do remember the stupidass Congressional hearing
EDIT: And of course everyone remembers the halting of buying GME on Robinhood - but I think other brokers followed suit and did the same. This wasn't mentioned.

 

If you are into financial documentaries and scandals like I am, 2 other favorites of mine are:

1. The Smartest Guys in the room - Documentary on the Enron meltdown. Very well done
2. The Big Short - Movie about the 2008 housing crisis and explains the banking corruption (all star cast)

Smartest Guys in the Room comes and goes on Netflix and Prime. Most recently I saw it was on Pluto Tv app. Also check Hulu. I have seen it probably 5 times.

It's so hard not to binge watch Black Summer lol. Almost all the way through it. Probably my favorite zombie genre show, I hope they make a 3rd season

 

It was 2 years between the first 2 seasons, don't know if that was pandemic related or not. As of now it hasn't been renewed for another season.
It's actually some kind of spinoff/prequel to Z Nation, a show that aired on SyFy a few years back. I really could not get into that one. Completely different vibe than Black Summer.

 

This show has definitely taught me not to get attached to any character lol. It's way better than Z Nation for sure.

 

The House of the Dragon is getting interesting.

 

Watched the new Hellraiser on Hulu. I loved the original and the first sequel back in the day. The new one did not live up to my expectations.
