What are you streaming on Amazon, Netflix, etc?

I was about sick to my stomach, he spoke for approximately 15 minutes. I had no response, no idea what to say. What does one say after a man says “we thought we’d die trying to get to the war”?

I felt like nothing after he spoke….

My grandfather(s) also served WWII, Navy and highly decorated. Now my grandfather NEVER not once spoke of the war. We saw the drawer full of ribbons in the bedroom while we were snooping as small kids. My grandmother caught us and said.. Don’t ever touch those, don’t ask your grandfather what they are. We didn’t understand until later that she was simply protecting him from reliving the time….

I watch the wwii stuff as much as possible, but it’s tough. I served in the army, never experienced war so I feel worthless in comparison.

Just on Episode 1 (but Season 3, duh). They start with Caligula. Holy Roman Hell

 

Agree, so far it's a skimming but at least they mention the wives and sisters. But I don't remember stuff I learned many moons ago. Like I forgot Commodus was Marcus Aurelius' son. I forget basic stuff like Caligula was right after Tiberius (who was Emperor when Jesus was crucified). Just being in Pompeii I do remember Titus was in charge when she blew.

BUT I was screwed up. I started with the wrong Epi one (I somehow was in Season 3), then discovered the whole thing (three seasons) are not in sequential (Historical) time order by season anyway - screw it - just watched Epi 1 Season 1.

 

Anyone know where I can find the best Christmas movie of all time, Die hard? lol

 

I don't see it available free. $3.79 on Amazon prime, $3.99 on appletv, $3.49 on ROW8.

google says it will be on paramount tomorrow at 9a, but varies on cable carrier. Mine don't show it.

It's interesting, for sure take on girl power. It can't help but be a copy of every other space sci fi. Some gai but not promoting it. Straight up nasty violence. Nazi equivalence. I was entertained by the 2hr+ part one. Part 2 April 2024.

 

My grandfather was in WWII as well. He lived near the ammunition storage when the Oppenheimer explosion happened a long time ago. He didn't say much. My uncle told me about my grandfather while showing the photos of him and the war plane he was in..

Worth watching? Or will it just irritate me?

 

Up to you.. Some say good, some say terrible.

 

Knowing that you will NOT be tied up in a 1 hour per series right away makes it tolerable. But it is LONG.

It's corny as heck. But was not particularly irritating. The raven haired girly is not unpleasing, the fight scenes are fun. The overarching young princess and the dead king.........are woven in, in an interesting way. The robots are quirky to say the least. The farmer turned fighter, in love with girly is typical. If she turns out to be gai, then I'm out. But they don't see fixated on this. In fact in star warish bar scene some gai pig dude hits on him. Kinda funny, with a few tranny shots.

Give it 30-45 minutes, at least until she starts to form her team.

I think it's inevitable people will compare to Star Wars and such of course. I can separate that, my wife struggled with that, then left "too much violence". The scene where she rescues the little farm girl about to be raped by soldiers turned my wife off. I get it.

none of them have it. I would’ve thought one of them would seeing as how people are always debating whether or not it’s a Christmas movie.

I have "Holiday" genre tab in my Apple TV menu which Die Hard isn't in holiday genre.

I have a movie called "Scrooged" which is listed in Holiday genre.

I was told that Die Hard was released in July... so it is not a holiday movie.

Anyway, you can watch Die Hard during Christmas.. that's fine... Nothing is wrong if you watch it in other months instead of Christmas.

I read an article that Die Hard director said it wasn't a Christmas movie... but lot of journalists spread fud about it.

Remember E.T. movie? They dressed up for Halloween but it was released in June. So that means it is NOT a Halloween movie. Die Hard did same thing as E.T. did.

 

That surprises me. Just looked and you have to pay for it on Amazon prime. Damn, would have thought some service was carrying it by now
