cracked open a beer and about to watch the new Resident Alien episode on SyFy channel.

I came across a movie the other day, The Last Duel, I thought it was pretty good.

Masters of the Air - good episode (latest)

The New Look (also Apple TV) - continuing with Nazi theme (man Hollywood would be out of material....ok sorry) - actually very interesting. Life story or Christian Dior (basically) in occupied France. Haute Couture. Also focuses on Coco Chanel and her seemingly cooperation with the Nazi's and how she met with Himler. Very strange. I did not know dis. Does not focus on Dior's preferences in your face.

 

We're a few eps in.
Surprisingly-well written.
Yeah, it's cheesy cop TV, but seems worth the watch.

 

Attempted to watch The Abyss on Netflix. Wife and I couldn't take it. First off it's dubbed, which I am good with if the acting is good. However, what we can't take is the insolent teenagers, where they are angry at EVERYTHING, even during a crisis. A liberal smearing of homosexual teenagers. Men that act like a bunch of bitches. Shitty acting and a lead woman that thinks she knows how to be a man.
One thing is for sure, I am getting tired of these "woke" movies.
1/10, do not recommend.

'Masters of the Air" YES! Can't imagine 25 missions those crews flew in daytime raids. War sucks!

 

I think the only other branch in the military at the time that had a higher death rate among personnel were the submariners.

It's wild to me that they were so hellbent on sticking with the daytime raids despite horrific losses. And a major lack of air fighter support until the P-51 Mustang came along later in the war with the ability to escort them further along the mission.

It is crazy to see how much of a beating the B-17s could take though and still keep going

When they show the POW camp - wondered how many guys were there......huge

 

The contribution by the "Red Tails" providing escort in the P-51 is only a glancing scene if I recall.

"Was not bad" sounds like you liked it less than "enjoyed it".

 

Resident Alien is different and sometimes funny. Same dead pan humor as in Wednesday series.
Somewhat horrified when I saw Linda Hamilton in this. I remember her from the Terminator movies 35 plus years ago.
We all get old but was still glad to see her back on the screen again.

Tried to watch Warrior but turned it off. Why do they need to say F this F that with every other word anymore in movies? Do people talk like this in real life? Most people I know don't. There is a time and place for that.
The Abyss wasn't much better with mother and daughter dropping it in front of each other every few seconds. I can tolerate it to a point but turn the movie off when it doesn't end.
