I get to HBO Max via Amazon Prime and I recently logged in to the Max on the standalone app on my TV.

Never did comparison...

 

If you get a streaming service as a “channel” on Amazon prime, some of the content isn’t properly curated, and you may find episodes missing, subtitles not properly displaying, and other things. Even if that channel and the streaming service are hosted on Amazon servers.

 

One example I'll give...

GOTs...I was watching an Episode via Prime and went back to it the next day and it was not available.

Signed onto Max and viola! Got back to my episode.

That was the main reason I logged into Max...since I pay monthly for HBO Max.

 

My wife watches the Sheridan shows like Yellowstone and on the Paramount+ channel on Amazon. The English subtitles were missing for a few episodes of Yellowstone and one of the
episodes for season two didn’t want to play until we refreshed the app on the Xbox.

Prime includes HBO Max?? No extra charge???

 

No you have to pay for it, it's just accessible through Prime that way. Sometimes they'll do deals through Prime or other outlets like Hulu and you might get it a little cheaper that way for a certain amount of time, versus going to Max and signing up that way.

 

Ok thanks. Yeah we juggle deals. Easier than cable to to in and out. Disney combo with........Hulu no longer or off and on.......

It's cool that our T-Mobile plan throws in Apple TV no charge. Used to have a Hulu or max deal, no longer

 

Here's a pisser: We only do streaming. Not cable.

No Mariners MLB except cable package (stupid) on Root Sports. Can do the MLB package, but that does NOT include local games (stupid). There is no Root Sports streaming except maybe some ultra expensive fubo package $100+ month or something crazy.

How does anyone watch in market MLB games (maybe no one here does) - just looking for input from you smart folks.

Why not get a digital antenna? I have one and get my local stations which include in market sports when televised. I am surrounded by a lot a of trees and sometimes it's a flaky signal but it works fine most of the time. Kinda looks like this. Had to run a cable and all but worth the effort in the long run.

 

Finished up True Detective, latest season, kind of a funky ending but I liked it.

Tried watching Shogun - way too slow of a start.

Land of Bad = pretty solid movie.
