Didn't watch (I hate pol debates) but watching the idiot Weah punch and red card had to to be worse!!!

 

Love Me Tonight (1932). YouTube. Not big on musicals and this one was ok.

It Happened One Night (1933). YouTube. I really enjoyed this romantic quasi-comedy. First film to win all top five Oscar categories.

 

Duck Soup (1933). Prime. The Marx brothers doing more shenanigans. Groucho continues to annoy; Harpo is the funny one.

Taxi Driver (1976). Fawesome. Can’t believe I put off watching this film so long. Very good watch.

 

Tour de France (TDF) coverage, stages 1 & 2. On NBC Sports and Chris Horner/ YouTuber.

Going into the race, Two cyclists stand out from the rest:
Tadej Pogacar - Current #1 ranked road cyclist by UCI sanctioning body. Won TDF in 2020 & 2021.
Jonas Vingegaard - Currently ranked #2. Won TDF in 2022 & 2023, but punctured lung in crash in April and has not raced since. He is backed by #1 ranked team.

Others to watch: Remco Evenepoel, Primoz Roglic, Carlos Rodriguez, & Adam Yates. American Matteo Jorgenson is a top 10 favorite but is on Vingegaard’s team and is expected to support him.

After the first two stages, Pogacar, Vingegaard, & Evanepoel have edged 21 seconds from the next group of leaders.

 

House of dragons getting spicier.

 

First 5 seasons of Northern Exposure. About to binge final season 6. Prime.
Unfortunately season 6 is not the best of the series as there were quite a few character changes before they ended the series.
This show is perfect for those hot summer days, escape to nowhere Alaska for a few hours and dream of a simpler life.

Finished off Archer, Netflix. What can I say, it's Archer.
Just restarted Dexter. I have all the seasons on DVD, really liked his character and looking forward to a potential reboot of the series.

 

FRA V BEL

 

I watched Aliens and Aliens director’s cut back to back and then I remembered being a kid and thinking how awesome it would be if this movie had a sequel :/

 

Counsellor at Law (1933). OK website. Despite filmed mostly at a law office in the day affairs of the lead attorney, the movie moved well. The phone operator nearly stole the movie.

Tour de France coverage of Stage 3 on NBC Sports, Chris Horner/YouTube & Wedu/YouTube. The longest stage, 143 miles, but a boring relatively flat stage.

 

Really enjoyed Northern Exposure back in the day. It was filmed in the PNW. Not much snow and cold though.

 

The Thin Man (1934). OK website. I really enjoyed this film. A well written who-dunit romantic comedy. It spawned five or six sequels.

Tour de France coverage of Stage 4 on NBC Sports, Chris Horner/YouTube & Wedu/YouTube. The first mountainous stage. Pogacar stepped on the pedal on the last climb and pulled ahead of the field. He is 35 seconds ahead of second place.

 

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley on Netflix.

Top Hat (1935). OK website. On the second group entering the US National Film Registry. I did not enjoy it much.

Tour de France coverage of Stage 4 on NBC Sports, Chris Horner/YouTube & Wedu/YouTube. No change in overall standings. The big news is that Mark Cavendish won his 35th stage win, a TDF record. It was starting to look like it would never happen. He had rough starts in first four stages and was skunked in the last two TDFs. He is now the second oldest rider to win a stage and his record looks to stand a long time.

 

The Petrified Forest (1936). On OK website. Another little gem from the 1930’s. The title is relevant but makes for an odd title on this film.

Flash Gordon (1936). On Fandango Home. So bad it has reached campy status.

Tour de France coverage. Individual trials today. No change in leaders standings.
