How Green was my Valley (1941). OK. Sad ending but good watch.

Casablanca (1942). Max. A rewatch - I had forgot the storyline. A cult classic. They never say, “Play it again, Sam.”

Hawaii Five-O (1968). Paramount+. Cocoon, the pilot episode. Leslie Nielsen was in it.

Mrs. Miniver (1942). OK. A classic, winner of six Oscars. Very effective at showing disdain against the warring Germans without naming them.

Started the 2nd season of Kleo on Netflix. So far, it's perfect show making in every way. Perfect use of sets, props, costumes, characters, plot, soundtrack, etc.

The only possible complaint, is that Uwe needs to be in more scenes. That guy is such the perfect arschloch. They could do a spinoff based on that character alone.

Iceman (1984). OK. A neanderthal is thawed and reanimated. Turned out to be a rewatch for I remembered the ending. Entertaining flick, with Timothy Hutton and Danny Glover.

Shadow of a Doubt (1943). Classic Movie Time. Hitchcock said this was his favorite film he made. Not my favorite of his to watch but still a good watch. The storyline seemed to jump too much. Loosely based on serial killer Earle Nelson.

Double Indemnity (1944). Classic Movies. Very well done crime-drama. Nominated for 7 Oscars, but won none.

Lost in Translation (2003). Max. An ok lovey dovey film. Scarlett Johansson was superb, and only 17 during filming.

9 part series with decent storyline. The shit part, it ends as it did and there is no part 2.

Arsenic and Old Lace (1944). WatchTCM. A bit silly but entertaining. The pro movie reviewers say Gary Grant over-acted but his acting looked good to me.

Walkabout (1971). Cinema Box. Very interesting film. I had to read film reviews to understand some of what I saw.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983). Max. These films need no introduction. Saw the original film when it came out and did not jump on the bandwagon to watch the sequels. Never got into the storytelling part and found character development to be subpar.

Never really got into Star Wars either. Now, I saw Close Encounters Of The 3rd Kind in the theatre. Loved it! Also, My Mom took me and my friends to see the then "R" rated Alien in 1979 when I turned 13. Two things burned into my mind. My Mom laughing out loud when the Alien burst out of Kane's (John Hurt) chest. And at the end where Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) changes out of her space suit. Loved this movie so much. My kind of space adventure.

Over the weekend, I went to see the latest ALIEN film- Romulus.
    Mild spoilers;
I absolutely loved this movie for the first 45 minutes/hour…
The production design, the ship design, the world they inhabit… all of it is straight out of the original movie. If you’ve ever read one of the expanded universe books or the comics, this movie could have been plucked directly from that world.
Then, they do something that ties the original ALIEN films into Prometheus & Covenant that just completely threw cold water onto my ALIEN boner.

I will say that the actor playing Andy was by far & away the best damn actor in the movie. Give that dude more roles.
He was able to play his character expertly.

Les Enfants du Paradis (US-Children of Paradise; UK-Children in the Gods; 1945). Plex/OK. French film made during Nazi occupation. French critics regard it as the best French film. Superb acting and directing; was pulling for a happier ending.

Roma Città Aperta ( Rome, Open City; 1945). Max. Italian war drama film. Another superb acting and directing film, this one with a tragic and somewhat abrupt ending.

Both these films were nominated for Best Screenplay Oscars but, sadly, neither won. Les Enfants is a two-part film but Plex only streams the first part, an apparent oversight on their part. I had to catch the 2nd part on OK website.
