Dexter Original Sin on Paramount

Lioness on Paramount rewatching first season before watching second one

 

Turbo Kid (2015). Peacock. Decent acting but hokey story line and it looked like the special effects department came over from the Power Ranger’s.

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022). Max. There is a lot going on at once. Entertaining for sure. Not convinced it is worthy of more than three Oscars, and certainly not best picture.

 

Just started Carry On on Netflix. Looks good. Got Jason Bateman as a villain

 

Watched last night.

 

It was OK. We didn’t shut it off. So there’s that. A supposed nail biter but not too much. Some holes in the screenplay but I’m just a snob. (Hint-full lunch plates and seat belt off then on).

 

It was really corny. The chemistry of love was not there at all for the couple. Some timeline holes and such. The bag change was good though.
That said, it was entertaining, damn Bateman is a nasty bad guy, maybe because he is so hateable.

 

That guy. I still want to punch him!! After all my criticism of the movie, I wake up and want to smack Jason Bateman. hahahahahhaa

 

Netflix- Biggest Heist Ever
Good watch.

 

Latest Silo. Mysteries still holding me in!

latest Dune. Maybe enough with the "witches", but still fairly entertaining.

 

Landman on Paramount +.

This is the latest Taylor Sheridan production (Lioness, Yellowstone, etc.). They had me at Billy Bob Thorton and Demi Moore.

OK...they had me at Demi Moore although her part actually has been very small through the first 3 episodes.

My favorite thing about this dramatized version of the Texas oil and gas industry is that API (The American Petroleum Institute), which is better know for publishing industry standards on "Best Practices" and other mundane topics, is counter programming the series by running their own commercials during the breaks saying stuff like "Hey we sure do enjoy dramas like this, because in the real Oil & Gas industry we don't get a lot of drama as we're not a bunch of jackasses that blow up stuff every other day".

OK...they didn't say "jackasses".....but that's implied.

It's very entertaining so far.

 

Gonna watch the Yellowstone S5/E14 Finale on Prime tonight...yeah, it's $2.99 to purchase but at least I'll have it in my profile.

Have not read/watched any episode ending reveals.

I'm quite burnt out on the zombie theme too, mostly thanks to The Walking Dead running for way longer than it should have. But the original movie from this series, 28 Days Later from back in 2002 was incredibly well done. One of the first feature films to be shot entirely on a DSLR camera if I recall correctly.

Then came the sequel 28 Weeks Later which did not live up to the original. But the original director Danny Boyle didn't do that one, however is doing this third installment. So hopefully it lives up to the trailer.

 

Yellowstone (2018-2024). Paramount+. Completed S5. Will there be a S6? I’m good with the series ending as is.

The Old Man (2022-2024). Hulu. Completed rewatching S1 to jump back in and start on S2. The Afghanistan war story feels aged but Bridges and Lithgow keep it interesting for me.
