as a parent of two toddler age children, that show gives me considerable anxiety and dread for the teen years lol. So well done though, acting and writing is superb.

Absolutely instill a moral code and live that code

Don’t route your kid into something or hobby or interest you like - route them to things that instill self worth and some enjoyment and fulfillment. You can be critical but never condescending

My dad was much like the father’s dad. Beating included. I too swore I would never do that to my kids. But luckily I didn’t swing the pendulum too far - not too much freedom

I already went on too much. My kids didn’t turn out perfect- no one does, but they do have a solid right and wrong moral compass

 

Looking forward to The White Lotus at 9pm.

The Hunting Party

 

Haven't watched the new season of Reacher. Maybe binge it if I can find a block of time.

 

Finished reacher last night and meh
The Son was good but crappy ending
Started Mobland last night looks good

 

The 400 Blows (1959). Max. French, with subtitles. Film ends rather abruptly; otherwise, a sad but well told story of a juvenile coping with an unhappy home life.

The Seventh Seal. (1957). Max. Swedish with subtitles. A peculiar film I enjoyed more than I thought I would. A knight returns home after the Crusades amidst the black plague epidemic. He challenges the grim reaper to a chess game to buy him enough time to see his beloved.

 

The only thing I’m getting out of White Lotus is arguing with my wife whether Schwarzenegger looks like his dad or not.

 

Ha I told my wife I thought he was the spitting image of his dad and she said she couldn't see it. Not all the time but certain expressions/angles he looks exactly like a younger Arnold to me

 

In certain angles he’s got that look Arnie had in T1.

 

I don't see it as much as you guys...just a slight resemblance from Arnold.

 

White lotus latest episode was good for a pretty dismal season. I can kind of see the resemblance but if I didn't know he was his kid I would have no idea

 

I was expecting accelerated episodes...meaning, it would get right to the point from the start.

But characters have to develop along with dynamics in each interaction.

It took a minute but it's there now and there's only one episode remaining.

I'm expecting Arnold's son to get it on with that girl who threw books at him in bed.

And that brother/sister relationship seems like it's going to get forbidden.

Lots of other stories within the series...I hope they don't solve it all in this last episode.

 

I’m watching Iron Man 3 on Disney+.

 

The Irishman, Netflix. Great movie. There's a commentary at the end worth watching.

 

Damn, yeah I can't see how they are going to wrap it all up in one episode without feeling rushed.

Def some weird brother/sister vibes there

The dad portion with his weird flashback or whatever you call them should be interesting

 

The three girlfriends dynamics is also interesting...they talk about each other when one walks away from the group.

And that lady with her son...that gate guard and the sweet girl he's trying to date.

It took time but the story finally builds up!

 

The tension this season is great, every season follows the same kind of format but this one is something else. It's like watching a lit fuse get closer and closer to the dynamite only to realize there's still another 10 feet of fuse left to burn. Finally gonna go boom next week though
