I do indeed. Also this is maybe one of two titles where I would recommend the audiobook over the actual book. Though the actual book was good too.

I liked them all but IMO seasons 3 to 7 were the sweet spot in the series.

I watched the PBS Ken Burns doc on Hemingway. I've read several of his books. Knew very little details about his life. Holy whatever. Man lived a life. He was the kind of guy who didn't need to make up a bunch of bullshit about his life, but did. Some of us see the sights, he lived the sights. Then embellished them. Really did escape death more than once, but multiple and I mean multiple brain traumas. Went through all sorts of wives and mistresses. But damn it when he was on, he was a great writer.

Drinking will kill your ass quick. So will a double barrel 12g to the forehead. He was younger than me and looked like hell. The news coverage of his death(s) was so foretelling of fake news....the suicide the most.

If you want to see a true video doc on Hemingway (and I'm sure most here won't) the PBS one is very very well done.

The old NY Times article from his death in 1961....

    https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nyt...specials/hemingway-obit.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

'died from cleaning his weapon', spent 2 months at the Mayo Clinic "high blood pressure and an odd case of hepatitis"

Seems they went to great lengths back then to try and skirt around the idea that the poor guy was depressed. Sounds like an interesting documentary, something the wife and I can watch together

Thanks for posting the link. Yes he was severely depressed and drank 24/7. Hepatitis just another euphemism in his case for cirrhosis. Artists just have wide spectra of life, one could say.

The article said one barrel discharged so I stand corrected, which makes more sense, even with a two trigger shotgun.
