Im thinking about getting undercoating done for my 2020 taco since i do alot of off-roading in muds and in winter also i live in bc Canada where it freaking rains 24/7.
I didnt do it in dealership but i want to do it now 2400 kilometers already on the truck !!!

Do you guys think its worth it !!

IMHO undercoating causes rust, there are plenty of threads on here where people use fluid film or body cavity wax instead.

Most people say to avoid the hard rubberized undercoating, as it traps moisture and speeds up the rusting process. Most of us in new england use fluid film or woolwax, a lanolin solution sprayed annually or twice a year. I picked up a kit last month, and sprayed mine for the first time. Its cheaper direct from them than vs Amazon. I even found a discount code on another forum :anonymous:

IMG_20191008_145233266.jpg Use only Fluid Film, Wool Wax, or Krown. Or maybe Cosmoline. Freshwater rinse regularly and reapply before winter. Stay away from tarlike or rubberized hard undercoating.

what these people say. Avoid tar like undercoating. Had that done in my 95 Pathfinder and it ended up trapping water inside the frame which rusted through. The undercoating was fine, but the frame was not

i undercoated mine by hand when i bought it in 2016 and no issues and live in NC but will be moving back to home state of PA in a couple years and have always undercoated my vehicles. also used to spray used oil all over the frame and inside the doors to prevent rust, no issues...but when i lived in PA, i also washed and sprayed the salt off the truck and underneath regularly on all my cars..

I've never done anything to the last few newish cars and suvs I've had but wash them and rinse the underside with the high pressure hose at the car car or go to an automatic with under carriage wash. They stayed ok not perfect. I'm in southern Pennsylvania.
My Tacoma got fluid film last Saturday. Being my first new vehicle and the tales of older ones having frame rust I'm most likely do it every fall with this one.
