WOW! You must be doing something bad to your batteries. In PA they should last 6-7 years.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Sears Diehard. Always in my vehicles. I don't plan to get the truck upside down so don't need agm. Have lived in Marylan and Ok, but no really extreme cold.
I did always only use Interstates in my cruising sailboat though. No upside down, no agm either.

I live in Pueblo, same situation as you. I use Walmart Everstart in all of my vehicles. It's not that I'm particularly partial to that brand or anything, but they are cheap, ~$100 for a new one, and come with a 5 year warranty (3 yr free, then another 2 prorated). I can't say for sure how long they last, because I'm really bad about getting bored and selling/buying a vehicle after about 2 or 3 years. But I haven't had any fail early, and if I did, there's a Walmart basically everywhere in case you do need replacement.

[Well the removed batteries go on to live out there life for the next 6 or 7 years .

Then I don`t like to be swapping batteries in my other vehicles 4 legal for the street and at least 4 more in stages of restoring

When My Tacoma Hits the Road it most times Has at Least Several Thousand worth of equipment people are looking for that Morning .

I just don`t need the frustration at 0300 I turn the key and go.]

So, your actually rotating batteries. My bad:smack:I misunderstood.
And I do like the "turn the key and go" part.

    Uh, a tool box
Go to your Toyota dealer, I think it was $120 with taxes for my 2004 Tacoma, 7 year warranty I think. I remember it being cheaper than Advance Auto for the same spec battery(Advance did have cheaper batteries, but I'm keeping this truck for a long time). Also my Lexus SC300 has a "Lexus" battery installed from the dealer. Its a good 6 years old at least(I've had the car 5 years), fires right up with a brief turn of the key.

So I decided to go with an AutoCraft Gold 26F battery from Advance Auto Parts. I had a 20% off through my work, so I bought the battery, some MAF sensor cleaner, carb cleaner, and a new purilator air filter that I'll install later.

Installed the battery immediately and my truck turns over a little better. My shop told me a couple months ago I'd need to replace my battery before winter. Must have had a cell going bad.

Wanted to dig this up. My Toyota battery is 550 CCA and just went out. However, after reading this thread that by the way was from 2 years ago those that mentioned living in a cold place such as Colorado like myself I have had no issues starting the truck with 550 CCA. From the manual 550 CCA is OEM recommended. I will stick with what the manual said. Plus, like I said the truck has had no issues in our cold weather here in Colorado. As an avid hunter, it is important for me to have a battery that will start in the cold.
