Hoyt makes a great bow, probably the best finish on the market. i did not like the maxxis (i had one and sold it), i have owned 3 am32's and still do love them and will keep the one i still have for awhile but i just can not get enough of the destroyer, this is my first bowtech and i was shocked how it performs.

if i had to list the order of my favorite bows they would go this way
    1. destroyer 340
    2. am32
    3. destroyer 350
    4. alphaburner
    5. monster
    6. carbon matrix
    7. mathew dernilin
    8. maxxis 31
    9. mathews z7

wow..one guy, and you bailed on the Z7? hahahha.

the bowtech is a great bow. i dont like that flex cable guard thing. i took a college course in materials, and very few of them can handle constant flexing like that. i shot a BT350. i actually liked it alot. i felt the hump and thought it felt too aggressive for me. i cannot let off a fully drawn bowtech as smoothly. i would spook an animal.

again..numbah. you CANNOT buy a bow without shooting a few of them. i got it down to a hoyt maxxis and the Z7. came down at the end to me just being used to single cam. that floating yoke on the hoyt is brilliant!

there is nothing wrong with the Z7 just did not shoot well for me. and i agree shooting them is the best way to find out what you want. i think in this case he is stuck without a shop to shoot any of them at. that would suck for sure.

aficianado how did you season go?

Nah man no bailing he gave me some good ideas and there easier for me to get, still on the fence though, I wish I could test bows but there are 0, zero archery shops here, unless you call sports authority an archey shop, we here gotta rely heavily on word of mouth and internet forum opinions....hahaha

I'd go with Bowtech. But I'm biased, I shoot a Bowtech Tomkat. I just think twin Cams make sense. And ever since they came out with the Guardian, their bows have been smoother and smoother.

But don't get me wrong, Matthews, Hoyt and PSE make damn good bows and some very sexy designs but from what I can tell Bowtech has some of the smoothest, fastest bows out there with mass manufacturing of new bow designs keeping everybody on the cutting edge.

My money's on Bowtech, sight unseen, but like the guys have said, with todays high end bows it mostly comes down to personal preference and how it literally feels to you.

If Bowtech keeps up the innovations, they're going to be this generation's Matthew's.

This is the most perfect reply to a post I've seen in quite some time. Mathews makes some nice stuff, however they have painted them selves into a corner with the single cam stuff. The way Bowtech does there twin cams with the string not attached to the limbs makes timing a thing of the past. The "Zebra" strings are junk on the Mats, don't believe me, do a quick search on ArcheryTalk.com The Bowtech line is THE smoothest/fastest shooting thing on the market. I've had three, they all were smooth and fast. I'm still stuck on a old General split riser. The first time I fired it, I looked at the rest to see if the arrow was still there, yes, its that smooth....

I shoot the BowTech Tomkat as well and I love it. Smooth, Fast and Quiet and it is priced very reasonably for what you get.

x3 for Hoyt. I shoot the Alphamax and I love it. Fast, quiet, and deadly accurate...ask the bobcat and three dead deer on my wall, they will tell you just how deadly accurate it really is.lol

i shot that carbon matrix. barebow. that thing was super steady. no shock..except sticker shock!! i got it offered to me for $1400..i almost laughed at the guy.

i love the bowtechs. i wanted an 82nd airborne BAD! but that tiny valley would take some getting used to.

numbah, you let me come hunt with you, and i'll let you shoot my Z7. hahah.
what is your draw length anyways?

horrible! simply horrible! i went deer hunting a few times. i got close to some huge deer! but i had second guesses shooting them. why? because i was a full day's hike from civilization, and my camping pack already weighed 50lbs,. with a deer and some friend's help, assuming they didnt arrow a deer..i would have been looking at what? 120+lbs? i would have died. i was at 11,000 feet and we were all sucking air. awesome time!

i leave for texas on monday! going for big whitetail and hogs. i fine tuned my bow, and i can hit postage stamps at 30!

and my wife has me re-landscaping my front lawn. not much time left!! argh!

not really the best of the best. the idea is you get a bow that is lighter then most 32 inch or shorter ata bows but has a 35 in ata length.

in other words you get a more forgiving bow the does not weigh a lot. but there is less the 6oz different from other bows that are the same ata is that worth 700+ dollars more? not to me. it is not a real fast bow either. but they do look cool and shoot nice.
