Is this considered a spindle lift?

Its a 6" drop bracket lift. Instead of a longer spindle this kit extends the stock one and replaces uca with a strut.

That lift would be GONE ASAP. The lower bracket and u-bolt on the strut are scary looking.

It is. Same as ops. You can see where factory lca bolt would go and the bracket below it.

Devinzz1 is referring to my post from a few days ago.
Someone posted a link to my post. You may want to look at the link.
    Posted in suspension threads.
Seems like you already know what to do to swap out the outdated steering knuckle of the Trailmaster.

So I'm sure you are reading the thread.
A lot of people talk this Trailmastr lift down. If people look at stadium and Baja style off road racers a number of trucks run a similar Mcphearson strut setup.
    Anyways, to get rid of that strut mount you will need;
Fabtech steering knuckles for 6" lift. I have the part #'s if interested. $1,200. Total Chaos has a weld on style.
Upper control arms. Stock will work or aftermarket. Huge price differences.
I have Fabtech knuckles, Total Chaos UCA's with hiem pivot and all new hardware. Cost so much $ I have to wait to install parts until can afford an alignment.
If you can look into my threads on Tacoma World for more info.
    Or search Trailmaster lift.

It appears that strut you have disconnected may be blown. Unless you pushed it down.
There is a mod that can be performed for $50.00. It is a pain in the ass. I did the mod took me about 8 hours. 1 month now starting to make popping sound but the struts are not leaking yet.
Drive about 10 - 15 miles on road every day.

Get rid of that lift if you can. It was discontinued for a reason I cant remember (safety?). The shocks on that lift go out quite frequently and are not easy or cheap to find

image.jpg Try going to Toyatech website and search Trailmaster to Fabtech swap. My apologies , I don't really know how to copy and paste links on my phone. The link is in one of my posts; Struts and coilovers on a 6" lift.
You can update your truck costs a lot of $.
I have my parts now into it around $2,500.00.
Tacomas are fun trucks, to build, upgrade, customize or spend $ on.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg That mod you are going to do. I did it back in mid May. Gabriel inserts. Not going to mess with that project again. It was very difficult for me to get old inserts out and new inserts in. Maybe I did it wrong.
Truck rides tight and a lot quieter after. Starting to get noises when tires are turned to max left and right. No leakage so far. Definitely not driving on highway on that lift.

wow...all I can say is wow... It may have been engineered to properly withstand street driving. I have never seen anything like that before. There is a reason why most of the world is doing typical style suspension, not this type.
