I don't find it that big a deal. Maybe its just my Class A experience that kind of nullifies the difficulties that everyone else seems to have.

Your company should be footing the bill for your travel expenses to include food, gas, and hotel. If they are not doing this and not paying you like double a normal salary for your job... go find a different job.

I would tell you to buy a new truck the same way I would say to buy a trailer/camper and that is with full cash and to not let the sum of your depreciating assets to be worth more than 50% of your income. I personally don't like buying new vehicles because of depreciation (although Tacomas are probably the only drastic exception) but if you can pay cash and want one I'm not one to judge your buying habits.

You are being big headed and argumentative. Towing and hauling heavy places wear and tear on a vehicle. You run through brakes quicker, tires quicker, your suspension wears out faster, your fluids run at a higher temp which degrade them faster. You cannot honestly tell me that you take two identical trucks and one you drive as a DD it's whole life and the other you tow at or over capacity multiple times a week... and you don't think there is a longevity or maintenance cost difference between the two? If you think that you live in LALA Land and don't have towing experience.

You asked for opinions. My opinion is that unless your employer is paying you a pretty stellar salary above and beyond where you would get paid anywhere else, the costs of a trailer, the wear and tear on your vehicle, and every tiny expense that goes with it. You are paying your employer to work for them. That is a tremendous cost burden on you that in my opinion makes it harder for you to be successful long term finance wise. But I don't know what kind of coin you are bringing home maybe it's worth it. But a company should never require travel and not foot the bill for it while giving you a daily spending allowance.

Maybe. I'm probably selling mine this spring and going back to tent camping, down the road I want an Aliner. That's just for camping though, would never suggest those as options to live in

Listen kid, I make a 100k a year and only "have" to spend 18k for living expenses. My job is just fine.

My next point is, I know how to buy and own shit. I have been doing it for years.

If, I wanted to be argumentative I would, but I don't. So stop cluttering up my thread with your useless bullshit.

Last, I asked for opinions on TRAILERS! not your worthless yuppy bullshit opinions on how I'm running my life! It's really not that hard to keep non related opinions to yourself...

And this is for everyone, I just asked what kind of camper you would get, not can/would/should it be pulled with a taco. I just wanted to see some cool campers.

Prolly be helpful to mention that you have a heavily modified tractor taco and cash to burn if you want relevant camper feedback from taco owners :)

Towing more than the rated weight for you truck can open you to civil liability suits should you get in a wreck while towing. Something to keep in mind if you want to tow heavy.

More reason to forego the added cost of a camper.

If you don't want to pay for a hotel out of your own pocket, then why would you want to pay even MORE to be uncomfortable in a crappy camper, and even worse, have to STORE the damned thing somewhere when you're done using it?

Ok, so... $30-$40,000?? Whether that is true or not, I don't know. And frankly, don't care.

But lets put it this way; when you're DRAGGING a camper around, how much more FUEL are you going to be burning? Now leave the camper behind and just drive a nice relaxing drive rather than the white knuckle experience of pulling a huge empty box on tiny wheels that flies around in the wind, and take the extra money you WOULD be paying for fuel, and spend it on a HOTEL. Hmm.... And of course when you GET where you need to go, you can't just park a camper anywhere. You need to deal with electric and shitwater. So you're going to be RENTING a parking space. And you'll have to deal with being stuck in a crappy camper instead of a nice hotel room with a working bathroom where you can take a SHOWER. So forgetting about the cost of BUYING the camper, you SAVE MONEY with a hotel room, have a much more pleasant drive to the hotel, and a much more pleasant time STAYING in the hotel.

Now I'm going to be argumentative.

So just because the company doesn't pay for it, then I shouldn't get it? Then you shouldn't have gotten a Tacoma, unless your company is paying for it of course...

Maybe the camper you can afford is crappy but the one I'm looking at is nice. Not all hotels are comfortable, and the yard offices have showers. I live on 20 acres, so... strike 2.

    Yup 32k...

Zero, Its called a custom tune and 5.13 gearing

    Don't be such a pussy.....

    It doesn't cost anything extra...

That's what solar (included by the way) and parking lots are for. Care to try again?

Again, don't be such a fucking pussy....

Glad you recognize, but that's not what makes me a badass. The fact that I can do what you can't, does.

I will make a closing remark to all the fucking morons that can't seem to read and comprehend. I asked for pics and opinions on trailers, not your pussy assed attitudes that have absolutely no baring on my life or decisions. So, IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE A USEFUL CONTRIBUTION, DO ME AND EVERYONE ELSE A FAVOR AND SHUT THE FUCK UP. It's my fucking money so what do you give a fuck? Stop being a moron a go live your own life...

Was going to offer some advice on a trailer but you sound like you have life figured out @Broke Okie Ty (well, except for the anger issues).

That's funny. By your logic I should sell my rental properties (if you show some restraint when discussing things you don't really understand you won't come off so condescending).

I'm guessing you haven't slept in a trailer with a decent mattress. I sleep just as good, if not better, in our trailer than I do at home.

Well I would say thank you, but since you're being snarky, I won't. I have pretty much settled on a trailer despite this shit show...
