Unfortunately not an option. The equipment is too valuable and needs the safety of being in a truck. It's over 500k in equipment used to calibrate and service CNC machines.

That's in the future plan. No doubt the best choice but I just dropped 42k on this new truck and bought a house last year. I'm a little spent right now.

I've got the green one actually. Back is already filled when I make use of the back seat. I have lots of equipment. A van is in my future plans but that's a couple years out. Attached a pic

Fridge slides on a removable deck you can strap down with seats down? Then lift onto slide and slide into place? Depends on height and width.

Ehhh, at half mil, a few thousand dollars worth of wear n tear over a decade or two is a pimple on the ass of progress. Just the cost of doing biz then.
This is most don’t want to buy a “work truck” as their personal.

You're not wrong but it's also not my business or equipment. That'll change when my boss retires within a few years but I still love this truck. I'm sure I'll figure something out. Most of those dents happened as the truck aged and I got more careless. This truck I'm hoping lasts much longer as I intend on retiring it from work in a couple years and using it for fun.

Not to change the subject but I really hope you have it down on paper that the company is liable for both damages to equipment and any personal injury during on-call hours. I also hope that the personal vehicle allowance is larger than what you're paying for the vehicle.

Otherwise that job is costing you more money than you're earning.

Fortunately that's all taken care of. About 70% of the maintenance was paid on the last truck and all the gas. This new truck was paid for by a bonus minus the cash I get for selling the old truck which I gotta pay back because he gave me 10k loan personally. Boss even flew to Oregon and drove it down to surprise me with it. It's already registered in my name.

so it's valuable and precise enough to not be able to be in a nice trailer(they make air ride axles btw), but it's ok being violently dropped into your trucks door opening?

    Back to the subject then,

I'm agreeing with rear seat delete, put lower platform there and possibly with a home built slide deck so you aren't wrestling with the narrow doors. Also, put some corner bumpers on the cases themselves.

Edit, also, with it home built you can fabricate up custom tie downs or better yet, an enclosure. You 100% need heavy cases anchored down if they are sharing the same cabin space as your melon.

My truck has an alarm system and is safer during a car accident. The cases are pelican cases and does fine during shipping. Wouldn't do so well getting hit by a truck or being robbed.

i dunno, you make a pretty good argument for a work van...

if the boss is so eager to loan money for your personal ride, it really shouldn't be a problem for him to help get a branded company van that does all of this much nicer...

It's not the truck you should be worried about. I'm more concerned about the gear that's worth
a half million bucks getting manhandled wrestling it in and out.

Can't do a company vehicle because when I do service work at prime military contractors they require a mountain of paperwork and massive insurance coverage for them. If it's personal, they don't care. Weird but it's true.

A van with modular roll-outs that lock into a built in work bench would be hoss.

It's protected well enough TSA can toss it around in the cases. The point is its safer during an accident and protected with an alarm system.

If there’s enough space, a piece of UHMWPE plastic sheet cut/trimmed to cover that area. Double stick tape to mount it.
