not two days after I drove 1500 miles to swap my hood for a scooped hood, I apparently get hit by a boulder on the highway. I didn't see/hear it happen. Just saw the aftermath. This is the bend on my hood just above the headlight. It is about the size of a kernel of corn but it is definitely dented, not just a paint chip. I am going to pick up some MGM touch up paint from the dealer but what can be done about the dent?

PDR should knock it out easily. Then use some toyota MGM touch up to build back up the chipped out area. Normally I would then wetland and buff/polish, but being on the edge is not good!

    Don't panic.

You'll get more. It's called road rash.

    Paintless dent removal.

Success depends on the techs skill and access to the location from behind.

Worth an estimate, but it will still need touch up.

You could hide it behind a bug deflector if you like those.

@Soccer Mom, here's a pic, including your faux skewp and a derped grill. Just the wrong paint color.

I like the look of that but what I'm finding online says it uses double sided tape to go directly on the top, painted portion of your hood. Is that how it mounts? Any worry about paint damage down the road if you decide to remove it?

I was thinking about getting this PPF film for my hood only its specific cut fit for my Tacoma I think it will do a better job protecting more of the hood for less cost than the AVS Aero. not quite sure what brand film it is was going to contact the Fleabay seller on the brand. http://www.ebay.com/itm/22195011956...438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT#vi-ilComp

    Boulder? o_O

My paint chips are on the roof, just above the windshield. The rocks always seem to hit me high. Just ask the two cracks on my windshield...

But I guess when you're lifted... gotta pay to play.

    I second the PDR.

Stay away from bug deflectors #1 they look stupid #2 they cause paint damage from rubbing.

PS dont feel too bad. My front bumper is trashed from rocks. Needs a new paint job. I man cry every time I wash my truck.
