I picked up this 2nd Gen 5-lug with a 2.7L automatic off an auction for $3k in 2020 when it had 127k miles on it.

I’ve put some work into it—fixed the frame, replaced the valve cover and gasket, and handled a few small repairs. It’s now sitting at 152k miles, and I want to make sure I keep it running strong before diving into any visual upgrades.

    What I have had done:

Radiator & Coolant replaced at about 135k miles
Driveshaft U Joint at about 135k miles
Valve Cover and Gasket 150k miles

I've heard to replace the spark plugs, so I'm adding that to my list. I've also heard to flush the transmission—is it too late to flush it? Or is a drain-and-fill better at 152k? Maybe there's a way to check maintenance history with the VIN to see what's been done already?

What maintenance should I focus on at this point to help preserve this gem? All advice is appreciated!

I would keep,it waxed good to protect the clear coat and service per owners manual recommendations.

Body needs a whole job. I'm just worried about maintenance, and I know I can look at a maintenance schedule, but I am also asking based on the situation I got it in, is it too late, etc.

I would play it safe and leave it alone. Especially if it hasn’t given you any problems. You would kick yourself if you change it and it started slipping. That could cost you $$$

Download the toyota app - add the vin to your garage & then you can look up any history done at a toyota dealership

Coolant was about 10k miles ago. Radiator was replaced.

The rest of it, no idea.

Good point, I actually had this done about 3 years ago so like 15k miles ago due to a vibrating driveshaft!

Oh, good. Have a Trans-Go shift kit installed and lay that mother down. Are you 4x4?

I would just do an oil change with high quality motor oil like Pennzoil Ultra Platinum every 5k miles and change rest of the fluids that hasn’t been changed. Fix other problems once you start having symptoms. Changing oil is the most important thing you can do to an engine.
