    Oh look, another mod....

This is why you shouldn't buy a Ford. The transmissions shit the bed after ONLY 6,500 miles.

The dealer I go to for warranty repair informed me that the warranty is not voided with mods. However the item you mod no longer had a warranty. So swapping them shocks and springs, leaf pack ucas etc voids the warranty on those because they are no longer OEM parts not the entire vehicle.

I’ve brought my heavily modified Tacoma and 4runner in for warranty work and have never had a problem with the warranty.

however each dealership is different and they may try to play different rules.

I have. Many have, especially electronics.
    Here's how it goes:
    You mod with lift.
    Your CV joint fails.
Your dealer will grant or deny warranty on behalf of Toyota. They don't have to prove anything.
Let's say they deny warranty on the cv joint due to lift.
You get pissed and say CV geometry did not change.
You now open case at Toyota corporate.
Toyota checks on validity with dealer.
    Toyota says "your loss charlie."
You decide you are still right and going to fight.
You now need a lawyer at your expense.
Toyota says sure, bring your lawyer and I will bring 50 lawyers. Oh, by the way, Toyota convinces judge who says your truck is now evidence and has it impounded. Court case is three months from now.
A week before meeting, 50 Toyota lawyers get a six month continuation.
Nine months later, you meet and your lawyer wins the judgement for warranty for $800.
You owe lawyer $15K and a few grand for storage fees.
So you sue Toyota in big court for attorney fees and storage and court costs.
Five years later when they finally run out of motions and continuance and everything else. Judge agrees Toyota owes half of of your attorney fees.

    Good luck.
