The wildernest looks absolutely insane in a good way. I think what blew my mind the most was the space, the interior pics look super spacious.

The interior space was massive, since it is basically a square. The AT Habitat is similar but a long rectangle, a ripoff of the old FlipPac.

    Lol!

it’s a whole other world out there! It used to be only Wildernest and FlipPac back in the 80s-90s. They both went out of business, fast forward a few decades, then the overland trend started, the demand for a barebones pop up topper exploded.

Wildernest was started by a climbing outfitter company Lowe Alpine, basically wanted a base camp for dirt bag climbers. They joined with topper company whose name I can’t remember to build the campers.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowe_Alpine

note the mountain in the logos.

I can see what you mean about the mountain logo, I'm fairly new to this side of owning a tacoma like so far the only thing I've done was change the inside lights to green LEDs even though I've had this account for a while I didn't start full on use until like a month ago, and the amount of shit I've learned from people on here about mods and tips for maintenance and history about certain products and brands is insane lol. I know that this is the year I start making the truck how I want it to be, starting with a dope ass camper lmao.

Doesn’t topo allow you to stand up. Just not as much open area as the vagabond?

Yes we are, both the drifter and nomad will be made by us now. After we get the campers going that VO left in the dust we will be taking new orders.

Wow that’s awesome! How much do these weigh? I’ve had a gfc but always wanted a drifter. Did you guys buy out vagabond?

Not really sure what to expect as far as price I've never owned a bed topper lol. I have a bed cover on my tacoma rn but I hate it with a burning passion, keeps my stuff dry tho.

Having owned nearly every option out there I can say with 100% certainty that my Drifter was the best and my favorite wedge camper…and in all honesty, the only reason I sold it was that I could not support Phil any longer with the direction VO was going. I have zero doubts BAMF will do an absolutely amazing job, and produce a superior product with actual support.

Once I pay off the new truck, I will be selling my current camper and buying another drifter without a doubt :spending:
