some members don't seem to carry a spare. I've had flats caused by a nail clipper, handle from a paint can, a sharp piece of shale,a heavy staple from cardboard, and the usual screws and nails. usually only a slow leak, but I had to rely on the spare more than once. wouldn't be without one.

Packed snow/ice shoved into the wheel suddenly, and sheared off the valve stem.

I've only every had to change a tire once and i didn't pick up anything. All i found when i broke it down was a small hole up by the bead. Didn't ever figure out what caused it.

not all were on the tacomas, just in general. point is;you'be suprised what's out there that somehow finds its way into a tire, damages a valve stem,or can damage a rim.

I had a big ol' bolt go through the tire once. It wasn't able to be repaired, the hole was almost 1/2" diameter. I must have hit the stupid thing perfectly...

When I worked for Sears in high school we found a fork through a tire and one time a golfball had punchured through the tread.
