Gotta love the people who owned the property before me. Looks like they hung everything they could from the trees.

I run a Husky 372. Definitely overkill for what I need but a bigger saw is always better ;)

I ran two 65cc Makitas, similar models to what Home Depot (used to?) rent out. I love the high RPMs of the Makitas, and they were overpowered for the 20” bars I ran most of the time, but both eventually lost compression and I couldn’t find parts to repair them.

I’ve since moved to the city, and my next saw will have a 16” bar and a lithium battery. Will miss the smell of 2-stroke smoke.

My 2nd saw was a Kita 6400. I agree, for 64cc’s, it done a hell of a job.

Tim sent a video of his Mac from yesteryear. Good stuff. (I need to figure out this video thing!)

Too bad there’s not more repair support for Makita / Dolmars. Nearly impossible to find parts.

NICE! I have an old MS360 that is still running strong. That's a great size saw for felling and cutting up 12-16" diameter trees.

Pretty easy job except finding a punch small enough for the roll pin.

I have and run Stihl 038 20”, 026 18” and a 021 16”. Have worked on all over the years, new clutch, ignition coil, carb rebuild, fuel lines etc. Easy stuff to do and dang reliable saws. Those older models are mostly metal and made to last. The worst issue I had was on the 026. Would leak out the bar oil from the tank between uses. I cleaned the vent, replaced the tank tube and was beginning to suspect a worn bearing in the pump. Fiddled with it several times over the last year but still had the leak. Finally figured out that someone at some time in the past had mixed up the torx head screws and used 2 longer ones on the oil pump and the shorter ones in the cowling. Longer ones would bottom out slightly before letting the oil pump mesh with the tank feed tube, sort of a funnel shaped mating surface there. About drove me bonkers. She’s fixed now though! Paper towel test after a week and all dry.IMG_1235.jpgIMG_1201.jpgIMG_1202.jpg
